This is a false dichotomy though, right? Overwatch really isn’t trying to tell a story in game. There are narrative allusions and references to the out of game comics and CGI shorts, but even those are simply vignettes that expand on the world building without telling a cohesive narrative. Blizzard seems perfectly

So, these guys are assholes.

I’ve played the demo for about 4 hours and yeah, the individual stories seem to be completely self contained. I don’t really have a problem with it so far, as I’ve found the combat and general gameplay to more than make up for any of the story imperfections.

If you liked the game, you should watch the speedrun at one of the previous GDQs (either SGDQ 2017 or AGDQ 2018, don’t remember which). They break the game wide open.

If you liked the SGDQ 2018 race, you’ll love the SGDQ 2016 race.

Have no idea how Nekopara got approved for release on Switch.

I built my PC in fall 2016. The last time I played a game on the Xbox One was Deus Ex in August 2016. I’ve since played Persona 5, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Odin Sphere, and Dragon’s Crown on the PS4; before the Dragon’s Crown re-release, I think the last time I used the PS4 was July 2017. That said, we use the Xbox as a

I ride a metro to get to work, so I’m actually a pretty ideal use case, but it’s only a 15 minute ride. If it were longer, I’d probably use the Switch in portable mode more.

Jesus Fucking Christ. Why do they even have access to this data?  Would be nice if they were actually going to be punished, but we know that’s not happening.

The Wii U was trying to be an Xbox 360 or PS3, along with Nintendo’s usual spate of weirdness, a generation after those consoles became obsolete.  The Switch does the tablet better than the Wii U ever did, has much better branding, is portable, and has arguably one of the best gamepads (the Pro controller, not the

Woah, woah, woah.  Stop everything.  The real thing we need to talk about here is the hat that (presumably) Patrick’s character is sporting there.

Sounds like the mission in Sunset Overdrive in which your character gets drugged and hallucinates the floor is lava in an entire city and must make it back to base without touching the ground.

This is my experience with most games I play now. I go all in on a given game, play nothing but that game for about two weeks, then get burnt out or distracted by something, put it down, and never come back. Of all the games I played last year, I only beat Persona 5. Xenoblade was the rare game in which I played it

Studio Ghibli didn’t work on Ni No Kuni II, by the way.

The one time I’ve eaten a tasting menu, courses came out fairly quickly one after the other. We weren’t rushed while eating each course, but each additional course came out within 5-10 minutes of the previous courses’ plates being taken away. This was at a James Beard award winning restaurant, so I assume that is just

Experience Points and 8-4 Play are both good. The Polygon Show is decent, but they talk about random shit as much as they talk about video games, and the hosts think they are funnier than they actually are. Kotaku Splitscreen is also good, but how much you may like it depends on how much you like Jason Schrier from

Oh, definitely.  I followed the PS4 and Windows debacle.  There’s also several other patches in bound, or so I’ve heard.  I’m still maxing out my Xenoblade save file, so I’ll let Ys mellow for a bit and sort itself out before diving in.

Looking forward to Ys VIII on the Switch.  This summer is actually looking to be pretty decent with regards to JRPGs on the Switch.

It was sub only at AGDQ 2018 as well. People bitched them, they’ll bitch now.
