Ooops. I apologize. My bewilderment clouded my judgment. Really, though. I still don't understand.

Looked at the picture of poop. WHAT ARE THEY EATING? I really thought it was just a lump of baked beans with some of the baked bean sauce thrown in. I feel like they should be talking to a doctor/dietician/priest or something.
Thank you. Sincerely. For your message, and also for the mental image I have of someone with a Jellyfish for a head. What a soothing organism.
That's amazing! My mom is a veterinarian, and graduated top of her class— she's been a great example to me of how a woman is just as intellectually capable as men. You sound like a great, great mom.
Oh my goodness, so far, the stuff I'm doing is super fun. I've gone nuts buying books through A Mighty Girl, which I have been meaning to do anyway for my boys (they need books with strong female protagonists too!), and, like you said, I feel so much pride about being a "girl." So I'm definitely enjoying some fun…
It's so frustrating when people get the mentality of "every person is an island!" and makes choices without any thought of how it will impact those around them— or those genetically linked to them. That poor kid. Sometimes I wish we could revoke people's autonomy cards.
Huge hugs. You're not overreacting. You're reacting. On the one hand, you can see it as something totally benign, and on the other, you see it as a direct expression of your value and ability to fulfill his needs. The former doesn't elicit a strong emotional response, and the latter does— so that one is louder and…
In the gray abyss, so I don't anticipate getting much, but any feedback would be great.
I'm a couple months shy of having a baby girl, after three boys. I'm so excited! And yet, since finding out I'm having a girl, all of my involvement in social awareness stuff (I volunteer with an organization that combats…
Are you familiar with Glennon Doyle Melton? I love what she says in "Carry On, Warrior" about abortion protestors. If they really, genuinely cared about the cause, why don't they start earlier in the process? Spend that time volunteering at a Boys and Girls club or something. Not saying that everyone who gets an…
Huge, massive, giant hugs to you. May you have the space and safety to grieve and all the support the world can muster.
Really arrogant British men. So long as their arrogance isn't about politics, because ugh (No thank you, Piers Morgan)— but more like Hugh Laurie as House (I realize Dr. House isn't British, but there's some sort of venn diagram there that works for me) or Cal Lightman from Lie To Me.
It's not that hard.
What if I remove all the clear markers that indicate I am unclothed? The nipples. Chop off the labia/vulva/down-under and buttocks and fill all remaining cracks (pun very intended) with a putty of some sort. For extra security, get a full torso/hip tattoo of a t-shirt and shorts over non-nippled/cracked areas.
All gross sexism and misogyny aside, how can he even do this? Someone else took the picture. Someone else is in the picture. Someone else uploaded the picture. So he's printing it off, "unaltered," and gets to display it as his? Does that mean I can take some images of Georgia O'Keefe's and Picasso's down to Kinkos…
Yeah. God also doesn't like you to judge. Or gossip. But the sins of others don't count and should be given merit?
I also wish to someday live in a world where because the judge is female, it means there will be a bias toward the female survivor.
.... your definition of "biased" sounds a lot like my definition of "judge actually upholding the law, instead of all the crap we get with rape apology in sentencing." But it's cute that you've gotten to the point where actually doing their job means they're biased toward women.
I've found that the people that argue that "they're just making it up" or "they're just too sensitive" (they being women or minorities) are the same people that have a really hard time acknowledging privilege exists. "Well, if it doesn't happen to me, then it must not happen. Ever."
Media Literacy. It's astounding how many of us don't question the things we see in advertisements, magazines, on television— we accept it as normal and acceptable, and then shame ourselves for not living up to the digitally edited standard.
Happy Birthday, All the Way May! She's a fabulous performer, but man alive, that movie is one of the greatest movies of all time. And she was fantastic in it.
