He’s an MLS coach who spent his career in Europe. So he knows the domestic guys AND he knows exactly how competitive the Championship and the lower rungs of the Bundesliga are.

A rare example of an acceptable use of portrait orientation!
They don’t have to tank! They could just be that bad naturally.
I understand why Alabama pays Saban so much. I don’t understand why the NCAA (or state legislatures) don’t put salary caps or budget caps on organizations. It’s not like there’d be a shortage of guys wanting to coach if they made $400k a year. (Or <$200k per year, as the case here).
I’m convinced it was the Celtics, circa December 1, 2017:
Shades of Andray Blatche — remember when we had to cut a guy before his contract extension even kicked in?
Cleveland lost the best player in the world and has its star players out. They should be terrible. The Wizards, on the other hand, thought this was going to be their best season since the 70s.
Wasn’t the story that he had to buy the Caps in order to get the Bullets?
Dallas integrated early. Washington was the last all-white team in the NFL.
I don’t really think this is the case here, b/c some salty Nats fan would have already brought it up, but is there any indication that some pitchers always have bad run support? I gave up on baseball around the time Cal Ripken was beating up Kevin Costner, but I remember that Sid Fernandez was believed to always have…
The answer has already been given, but I’ll try to put it another way:
I can’t say that I’ve ever agreed with this author before, but I agree that VAR is a very slippery slope. Think of the worst instant replay calls in “american” sports: NHL goalie interference? the catch rule? was his foot off the bag (slider or 2b/ss turning the double play)?
Yep! Imagine Curry, KD, Klay, Green and Boogie all wanting $50 million per year: it’d be like the Hunger Games.
Perhaps a better way of phrasing it would be to say:
pretty sure there’s something in the rule book about shooting in a normal motion too — specifically so that you can’t pump fake guys into the lane
Yeah. Someone should make a film about a dystopian future society that makes a big profit out of a deadly game that everyone watches.
“He just wanted one damn goal” from the song about the hockey goon has brought me to tears on more than one occasion!
Zevon was already the most haunting songwriter before he got sick. Getting cancer, going on tour, making a record about it, and then dying: that was sort of like giving the Warriors Kevin Durant and Boogie.
It’s not perfect, it’s an analogy ;)
Even (especially?) stattos would have to admit that his career does not have many comps...
