I see a lot of 2-series’s with manuals. I dunno if the M2 counts, but the take rate on the mt there is 50 percent in the US.

No, you don't quite get it. The whole fun part of semaphore indicators/trafficators is that they physically pop out and move into position — the mirror indicators just stay there. Immobile. Well, other than the motion of the rest of the car.

They're not supposed to be PRACTICAL. They're inherently goofy — that's why I think they're ideal as a customization trend.
