Netflix is not so expensive that someone with two homes should find it a burden to pay twice.

And then she says “fuck this” and goes deeper in to confront the spooky scarecrow... and basically rapes him... talk about subverting expectations!
To be fair, King isn’t responsible for the white male fantasy - in the original novella, Red isn’t Black... huh that reads weird. In fact, he describes his own “carroty red hair”, which is why his name is Ellis Boyd Redding because that’s the level at which Stephen King often works.
IIRC when the film was announced…
I honestly did not get why the show made the decisions it did with Morticia and Gomez. Catherine Zeta Jones is probably one of the few actors who can channel Angelica Houston as Morticia, so it makes sense she did that, but she was constantly undermined by the writing.
I mean, it’s set up as a mother/daughter battle of…
She’s a clown for this in the same way tom cruise is for insisting on doing his own stunts when there are professionals far better than him right there
Sooooo much padding in this game.
To be fair, if it’s “the smallest cameo imaginable”, they’re hardly going to spoil it in the trailer, are they? I mean, it’s not a Netflix original series, ha ha see what I did there, Netflix-level humor...
If were pedanticalising (real word, no need to check), an “idiot” isn’t necessarily an unintelligent person - the word has a clear etymology going back through Old French, Latin, and Greek. In Latin means someone who “has no professional knowledge, layman” and in Greek “one’s own, pertaining to oneself, private”.
Same. Whatever the movie’s shortcomings, the decision to cut hard from him grabbing her ankle, to her being a ghost on the edge of the field sprinting away... was a good decision.
Because if it wasn’t for her horse, she wouldn’t have spent that year in college?
She’s nowhere near this blurry in my heart....
because it implies they think they’ll never play a better game.
I used to review videogames for a paper magazine. My editor gave me some early rules about words, phrases, and ideas he expected, nay demanded, to NEVER SEE in my reviews:
“If you like this kind of game then you’ll like...”
“Visually, ” (for maybe 3-4 years the phrase “the graphics in this game...” in my brain was…
Yeah we used to do this at our PC gaming magazine, except we gave the readers 100 slots, it was 2001, you could only vote for PC games that had been reviewed in the magazine (which started in 1996, and we provided a list), and you had to send in proof-of-purchase of the magazine to vote. IIRC we used to get 300-400…
Persona 5 Royal. Which is all story and has long stretches where you can’t just easily stop playing.
Link is supposed to be a “player cypher”, he has hardly any personality because it lets you project whatever personality you want onto it. (Some say “it lets the player project themselves onto Link” but that’s not really the deal, sure some might do that, but really - as with Clint Eastwood and Neo - it’s more about…
The other thing about BOTW that I don’t see acknowledged much is that it was the Switch’s killer app. The way you can play a 1080p version on your TV then literally pick up the Switch and run out the door... people think 2017 wasn’t that long ago, but in handheld/gaming terms it might as well be the dark ages.
Needing to climb a mountain to access a quest and encountering rain every goddamn time with no way to speed up time until it stops makes no sense.
Did you ever play Planescape: Torment? It was fantastic, but also like it was written by the kid in senior year who just sat up the back writing his epic fantasy vampire steampunk novel instead of doing any actual schoolwork. This is not a criticism... just a description.
For me, parts of Hyrule feel like a real place while other parts feel super-contrived and gamey, and the whole world has a “this is a magical realm of whimsy” feel to it. All of Skyrim feels like a real place to me, especially with mods that make the cities sprawl out past their OOBE borders. BOTW feels meticulously…
