I hate you that you can get Great Lakes in Northern VA. I live in the Hampton Roads area and people have never heard of Great Lakes here. Occasionally a couple bars can get a keg, but none of the bottle stores carry it.

Completely agree. I tend to not be a Christmas beer fan but I'll drink Mad Elf all year long. Also just discovered Hardywood's Gingerbread Stout that I'd highly recommend if you can get it. I'm only an hour from the brewery so it probably has more local hype, but it was damn good.
Yeah, same happened to us. We owed close to 1k last year so I changed it so we both claimed zero and then had an additional 10 bucks withheld from my biweekly paycheck. I'm a little fortunate last year that my wife is in the Air Force so a lot of her income is nontaxable. Otherwise we would have owed a lot more.

I haven't even considered taxes to be honest. Since our close was on 10/28, we will only have one mortgage payment in 2014. I'm assuming you're talking about tax exemptions for paid interest on a mortgage. I won't really get any tax breaks for 2014 due to there only being one payment, 2015 is when I'll see the…

I love my M8. It's the first phone that I haven't immediately rooted and installed a clean version of Android, I actually enjoy HTC's Sense overlay. The phone is a beast and I eagerly await lolipop.
Yes, yes, and more yes. I use the lime scent but this stuff is amazing. I also use their skin food. It's the first aftershave I've used that didn't hurt like hell and leave my skin feeling dried out.
I got both the cream and the aftershave right around Christmas last year and expect both of them to last at least…

The whole point of these repayment plans is to keep your payment capped at a percentage of your taxable income... something like no greater than 15% of your income that surpasses the poverty line. We are in the income based plan and previously in the income contingent. A new plan is the pay as your earn plan which…
In PSLF, the forgiven amount is not considered income and therefor not taxed. You are correct that loans that are forgiven after a 25 or 30 repayment plan are taxed, but PSLF is an exception.
Prolonging loan repayment: Don't push your student loans to the side right after college. It's important to get those paid off quickly, so that you can avoid paying extra money in interest over the years. Who wants to keep paying off student loan debts in their 40s?
Fun Fact, the founder of USAA was a GEICO employee that was fed up with being unable to promote within the company. He broke off and started his own company, which is now USAA. Learned that in a new employee training when I worked at GEICO a few years back.
Seriously, I clicked this specifically to see if you had replied yet. I then immediately scrolled to the comments to confirm before watching the video.
Except that thousands of years ago we domesticated these animals. They aren't wild animals anymore, they are companion animals. I don't think anyone would argue that the quality of life of my cats is significantly higher than a feral cat fending for itself.
I wouldn't keep a tiger in a cage, no matter how big. That…
We have 3 cats, one is a over-eater that will try to vulture the others food by scarfing his down as fast as possible and then run to their bowls. He will also vomit any red meat, so we can only feed him food with chicken, turkey, or fish. Another is actually just normal and eats his food, rarely tries to steal and…
Do you have perfect pitch? You may have come to associate a note with it's placement on the treble clef and that threw you off when the same pitch was on a different line in alto clef.
You must have mostly played bass trombone or rarely played principal. Not only was I taught tenor clef as a freshman in high school, but was reading alto by freshman in college. By the time I finished undergrad I would was playing etudes in lessons that were in a different clef for each measure and performing on…
Same here, I actually gave up cable a few months ago. But before that I didn't care about on demand. I think I read somewhere that you also lost your guide which I didn't much care for either. But I tried the first day I got it and ended up losing my connection for about 6 hours while I waited for another dynamic…
Sounds like you're on FIOS. I tried to mess with our network so that the supplied hardware merely was like a modem and our router then handled all the heavy lifting (DHCP, DNS, etc... I think, it's been a while). But I never quite got it to where the modem would get a new dynamic IP. I finally just gave in and have…
Yeah, we were apprehensive when we went from VZW unlimited data to T-Mobile's 1 GB plan each. It's been 6 months and the closest we've come to the cap is my wife in the first month used about 800 MB. With a little more attention to wifi usage she got it down to 300 the following month and I've never been over 200.
We…
Yeah, I'm mostly confused on the Windows side of things. I'll keep reading into it and checking for the update on my Roku's.
