Most everything has been covered here but I'll give my 2 cents which, again, is mostly a summary of what I've read so far. We have 3 cats and I've lived with carpets and hardwood. The carpet hides the hair better but it's always there, and on hardwood we start to get little furry tumbleweeds after a few days.
Agreed. Got a DC25 Animal two years ago and it's worth every penny. Got tired of living in the filth of 3 cats that our cheapo vacuums couldn't clean. This thing gets the carpets spotless and takes hair off the furniture with ease.
Totally agree with the feeling fixing an once presumed lost electronic is amazing. Went through a pretty bad thunderstorm last year and found out the next day our main plasma TV wouldn't work. I did some research and found out that most likely it fried a board in an electrical surge, and that a simple replacement…
Your last bit describes my parents exactly. Both retired in the last two years, and both got their first smartphones in the last two years. They were against data plans, but when visiting me one weekend they loved that I had instant access to sports scores, directions, and reviews while spending the day in Atlanta.
I'm 27 and like most others my age, it find it hard to imagine life without my Nexus. While on a weekend vacation in Savannah, GA, I was able to basically walk out of the hotel without a care in the world and rely on the phone for my navigation, restaurant reviews, entertainment ideas and communication. I literally…
This is how Amazon gets me everytime. My wishlist is full of stuff I probably don't need. But I come across something on Wirecutter, or think of something I might would like to have. I then spend a couple hours researching the best one to get for the desired task or affect, weigh the costs vs those benefits and…
I honestly don't know. I have never used the classic handle. I was switching from the 5 blade cartridges and assumed the long handle would more closely resemble something I already was familiar with. I also like the added heft, I feel like I have a little more control over the blade.
Never even thought of it that way, but yeah... I guess so. It's just a simple and steady way to trim the friends list down. It pops up 3-4 names a day and if I can't remember the last time we had a meaningful interaction or was a meaningless acquaintance 10 years ago then they get chopped. That way I don't have to…
Yeah, got social fixer after it was tipped here and find it very useful. Didn't know I could find who unfriended me but I don't really care. Most of the times I ask people who I regularly see and can't find on FB and 99% of the time the answer is they disabled the account for various reasons or they cleaned their…
Yeah, I did that for a while with my first brush, and even the second one. But the Parker brush is very heavy on that end with the chrome plate cap and I was worried it would fall off and break or crack the tile. I rent so breaking the counter is a bad idea. I also keep the brush on the edge of the sink and would…
I'm in the same boat, but I took it one step further by simply unfriending people. If they were acquaintances in high school or someone I met once or twice in college, then you don't belong on my feed. I also unlike a lot of things that were originally listed (circa 2004) as favorite books, movies, or TV shows.
In case anyone is curious, I'll post a list of the products I use now. Again, I've only been at this for 2 months so there are probably better products out there, but it should be a good starting point.
Made the jump to the safety razor from cartridges 2 months ago and can't believe it took me that long. It takes a little longer but the shave is so much better. I have terribly sensitive skin, so I have always bought top of the line shaving products and I finally found something I'm satisfied with. Previously I…
Yeah, there's a few different types of essentially the same hardware. The like the over the ear hooks but I avoided those because I sometimes were my glasses rather than contacts or my sunglasses. So I wasn't sure if something over my ear would be comfortable. There is also a pair with the same ear fin I have, but…
VOTE: BEST EXERCISE HEADPHONES
Completely agree. Classically trained musician here and I hate that people put a # on how much they practice. They say they have to practice 4 hours today, or you need to practice at least 20 hours a week to be worth anything. My goal is never to simply practice a certain amount of time but to practice with a focus…
I tend to agree with about everything here, except for one. I'd have to take exception to the last instruction. There is no way I'd make my last part of grilling hamburgers to be grabbing a beer. That would have been the first thing I did. The beer I drink with my burger would probably be my second, unless I'm…
Haha, I did make that suggestion. But the ladies wouldn't have it so it was out of my hand. We did find an interesting method of removing a cork with a shoe. You should find it on youtube. But the bottle was a little pricey and we weren't willing to risk it.
Trust me, we don't have the patience to age wines. We bought it and brought it straight home to drink. I did try to find tips last night and saw the port tongs listed but this is the first encounter we've had like this. We typically don't splurge like that on a bottle but as I mentioned, it was a gift. Most wines…
