Isn’t this what happens when we collectively care about games before release, only to turn to disgruntled assholes post-launch? If we weren’t so obsessed with the theoretical concept of the “perfect game” we’d enjoy the ones we already actually play a whole lot more.

Yeah, that’s awesome. Of course I much prefer the idea of free-building since that’s the whole fun of building things.

Regardless, it has the same effect.

People work at Reddit? I always assumed it was some sort of self-sustaining phenomena brought about by an esoteric internet singularity.

The issue is likely that freedom of build was what killed Lego Universe due to the crazy cost of defending the LEGO brand from people free-building dicks and other questionable stuff (for LEGO).

I think the market for brick ‘n mortar game stores is looking better when those stores start selling “gamer” as a lifestyle.

If you sleep with a professor or not, don’t pretend that academics is some pristine tower where people are treated based on their merits. There is more politicking and subjective tribalism in politics already. Everything you wrote happens every day without sexual relationships simply because certain students support

This is the best comment in the thread.

So corporations can package and sell Feminism back to you as a product?

I fully support and agree with this policy...

Uh, no she doesn’t. Care to provide quotes?

You can’t always have what you want, but voluntarily giving up control over our sex lives to a fucking bureaucratic institution is pretty un-Feminist.

According to the story, yes this was the first step.

You focus so much on the potential fear factor that you strip agency away from anyone involved. The argument is that we should be allowed to act as rational adults without blanket, zero-sum restrictions on our consensual activities. It acts under the false pretense of concern to treat everyone like they can’t keep

Because this is a big deal that will get them jobs at sympathetic organizations.

No offense, but I don’t think I’ve ever had a more vicious reaction than when I have tried to bring up labor issues to a Feminist group.

No, this is what happens when young people’s memory of progress is the absurdly fast movement of marriage equality. While we can all agree we want to get there with everything, there is a disconnect between the struggle and progress.

People skip right over the fact that this isn’t about feelings, but about being allowed control over your own identity and actions.

Nobody wants to sit on dirt, dog poop and spit tracked in on their shoes.

They’re doing this so the small minority of every political movement who makes threats can be persecuted. They’re salivating about using this to further bust up Anarchists and other activists under shit like “inciting violence”. Harassment is terrifying, but the first real case will be a big first amendment battle
