In light of how the Hand is traditionally powered, really only Dr. Strange would be on their radar as a real threat, and possibly Thor.

That's also the level to which Danny has advanced in thirty years of appearances. Back in the 70s, this is a man who operated as a mercenary despite being majority shareholder in a trillion-dollar company.

Yes indeed. Amusingly, that's at least partially Orson's fault, since he stole the manual.

They maneuvered to vote to fire them without them being there to countervote. I'd almost be willing to bet that Danny accidentally tossed in with the board via proxy, since he's a colossal idiot…

Gao is a dead ringer for the Crane Mother herself.

The show did establish in this episode that Harold's will specified that Joy and Ward lost their inheritance, shares and all, if they aren't employed by Rand. So this, oddly, makes more sense than it seems.

The most awkward part of Lei Kung's training. :)

For the record, they do call attention to that later. Also, based on what a later episode than that says, I'm not sure it's totally true either since apparently Danny and Davos used to steal donkey carts to go and try to pick up bathing women.

We actually KNOW Joy and Ward's shares were held that way… they only kept what they inherited from Harold as long as they were employed at Rand.

Near as I can tell, Harold's will had some sort of term that Joy and Ward's shares only remained in their possession while they were employed by Rand. Which is why they were so desperate to get them to sign the termination agreements before anyone else noticed.

Yeah, they specified he got a 1,000,000 a year living stipend. That goes a long way…

Or they did in this episode, by explaining that their positions at Rand are terms of Harold's will by some weird maneuvering.

I've thought about that and came up with a thought: because of the weird rules that Harold set up in his will about their positions at Rand, that may be why the Board could do something that weird.

Well, we get footage of Orson in episode ten, at least. , and I'd kill for some flashes of other Iron Fists.

Davos says it all later: "You are the WORST Iron Fist EVER.

He's not even MASTERED it. MANIFESTED is closer.

See, I'm used to Danny doing stupid stuff with his fortune from the comics, which is why he spent the 70s and 80s as a mercenary despite owning a billion dollar company, so I wasn't surprised that he's the worst.

Horrifically, that's STILL an improvement on the two villains that they merged to create him…

There is roughly a 1 in 6 chance that's EXACTLY what happened… and 4 of the others is that he had an assistant do it. (The other is that Claire Temple set it up.)

This is pretty much a Danny thing. He scuttled a trillion dollar deal in the first issue of the Immortal Iron Fist run just because it was with a Chinese firm over Tibet. As it happened, said firm was also a Hydra front tied into one of his oldest enemies, but he didn't know that…
