She seems like such a genuinely kind and wholesome person. In all these years she has been gone, there hasn’t been anything negative about her in the media. I think some of it is because, especially recently, we’ve been reminded of everything Diana’s sons have had to deal with and process, and they’ve been more open about the struggle with their grief, so it’s nice to see them find happiness. I’m chiming in as both a minor Plath scholar (I did a thesis on her in grad school), and as a Smith alumna from about a million years ago. So, Wonder Woman in a bustier = women can be anything. Plath in a bikini = undermined by being presented as a sexual object.

Hey! I beg to differ. Okay, it’s fucked up if the British are using this same image for every single Plath cover they produce, but imho this image fits this particular publication.

I kinda like the picture. It’s a reminder that depression isn’t always experienced by some Goth chick in a black buttoned up coat, but also by cute blonde girls in white bikinis too. I like the contradiction it presents.
