I hit a small chunk of shredded tire in my Model S on the highway once, maybe 6"x6". No big deal, that’s what bumpers are for, worse case scenario I just replace the bumper, right? ...right?

The Charger R/T that I rented a few years back was probably one of the best vehicles I’ve ever driven for eating up miles. Comfortable, with great infotainment, and more than quick enough. Everyone says the interiors aren’t great but I disagree - they might not be fancy but they’re soft in the right places and…
Here come the strangely defensive nerds. Popcorn at the ready.
Unfortunately, that would be playing into protesters’ hands.
8 grand for that wax banana is straight clown tits.
I mean you can make fun of the guy for having a “toy” like this but you know what? This project has employed hundreds of people in the hard hit marine sector and will continue to employee lots of people for the substantial on-going maintenance that will be required. Captains, engineers, all the other crew, the ports…
So they’re repurposing a ship that would otherwise be dismantled in an environmentally friendly manner, and your take is it’s bad, just because it’s for a billionaire?
Putting a key in the door to unlock it then putting the key into the ignition to start it. The car I drove 14 out of the last 15 years at least had keyless entry but now that I’ve experienced the life of just walking up to the car door, having the doors automatically unlock when I put my hand in the handle, then…
He looked like a total badass. The control of his weapon points to adequate training. Glad he’s armed and spraying our highways for justice.
Certainly looks cool for a kids show and Id gladly give it a whirl for my daughters but its a bit of a sell to compare to Top Gear in its prime.
Eh... sure. In the current market, this is a nice price, but christ I kind of hate that. This feels like it should be around $3k cheaper.
I love Jimnys and they are awesome off-road but this thing is all show and no go, sorry.
right, but you’re missing that he likely paid for the other 2 battery packs and the 3 motors. That 35K$ savings could be used on the battery packs, but you still have the motors at about 20k$ each. I think this is close even if you include the oil changes in an ICE.
“It appears that the crack on my part had been propagating for quite some time”
Your feelings don't deceive you. He did no searching for a landing spot, didn’t pitch for best glide, didn’t bother trying to restart the engine and didn’t even make a radio call.
This is only about the 1,000th video I’ve seen of an SUV flipping like an empty soda can. But please, SUV owners, tell me again how your car is “safer”.
Riveting, Pulitzer caliber writing from Jalopnik these days. Articles about counterweights like they are magical wizardry, bloggers copying other bloggers so they can take a trip to “Click City.” This is what Jalopnik has become. Its funny how you can tell a good Jalopnik blogger..they dont work for Jalopnik anymore…
Ugh, things just keep getting worse.
