How do you know he wasn’t doing something along those lines?

How can you say the shooting was unwarranted if you don’t know what it was?  Most of these “harmless pranks” for Youtube involve making people think they (or someone in their vicinity) is under attack.

The fact that he won’t say what the “prank” was leads to the possibility that it wasn’t just a simple “prank.”

Kind of weird to say the shooting was “unwarranted” and then not say specifically what the pranker was up to. That would answer the question of whether it was warranted or not, don’t you think?

Between none of the reporting describing the “prank” and a cursory view of their channel, in addition to their statement that they’ll continue “pranking”, I’m more than inclined to believe that there was no actual “prank” and it was likely just straight up harassment at the minimum.

so no word at all on what the prank they were pulling was when the dude got shot? seems like an unusual detail to leave out.

Any attempt at comment from the alleged shooter or their legal representation?  Forgive me if I don’t take Cook’s “simple practical joke” statement at face value.

Yeah Kotaku is trying really hard to convince that this is going to be a a gamer cultural touchstone movie that somehow is going to legitimize all of our childhoods spent playing videogames. KiraTV just dropped a pretty good breakdown of the publisher of this game and a bunch of other similar titles, and their ongoing policy of wringing every bit of money possible out of the games they own and dropping anything that won’t meet their bottom line. Then again, we knew Ark was a scam when it dropped paid DLC…

I don’t think he was ‘making demands’. He said ‘This is how I do my voice. If this is good for you, then cool.’ Blame the producers, if anyone. Seth was just upfront about how is performance would be and they still hired him despite that warning.

Putting it in the terms of service doesn’t necessarily make it enforceable.

Unless “plans change” and it never comes back. Remember, this is a company which prevented at least one fully completed movie from seeing the light of day in order to take tax writeoffs, among other controversial decisions.
