The quoted part goes on to state clearly that your car will only once again be considered “historic” if it is returned to its original state. Ipso facto, to make those changes results in your car no longer being considered “historic”.

Yeah, the whole “angry indignant” tone is off here. It’s a sensible recommendation...
Yeah, I think Mack’s new job is getting to him.
Hurray! Someone else (and I also do restos + mark + label parts) that gets it! I couldn’t figure the anger. When you sell off your electric E type project 10 years from now, If I can find the left side motor mount + carb mounting bracket (and the 100's of other stupid special parts) it makes my life sooo much easier…
Um...what you quoted simply addresses a recommendation that people who convert to EV keep their old parts safe and well-labelled.
And honestly, that person is me because I’ve had a crush on her for like 20 years.
Not to mention Dana 35 rear. The C-clips are notoriously weak in that one. With minorly oversized tires its not too hard to snap that axle. When I was shopping for my TJ it was 4.0L, 5-speed, Dana44, Air conditioning, or nothing.
I’ve owned a half dozen Wranglers, one with the half doors. I will never do that again. I’ve never understood the love. Full doors or GTFO. I can go doorless or tube doors if I want the open feel. If I want doors, I want doors.
This guy has to be kidding. A 2001 Wrangler stripper with an anemic AMC 120 HP 4, fabric top with Saran Wrap windows and a roof rack that looks like a giant spider humping the TJ. All this for only $8 Large. CP all the way to Drew’s house.
This. Man, these pictures remind me that living in California does have its perks as a car guy sometimes.
This is the correct answer.
Even the clutch pedal has rust on it.
That idiot is the author...
Take the fucking Jeep. Salvage every last thing you can from it, inside, outside, etc.
And trust me when I say, this is definitely a junkyard-grade Jeep at this point.
I wonder why vehicles built in the Rust Belt don’t resist rust better.
I feel like these articles are Tracy’s subconscious crying out for an intervention. Please, I can’t stop myself, would you look at the rust, and how rare it is, how could I NOT take it home?
We know you already trailered this back to your parking lot house. Why even try to tease us?
I bought it.
