I’ve got a few good friends that have been in, and thankfully exited, his orbit (though I’ve thankfully managed to avoid ever speaking to him myself), and those are all excuses he’s been making to people close to him for years. He’s been running the ‘I’ve changed/I’m working on being more aware’ manipulation on

“I’m sorry they saw the situation one way and I saw it another.  Different perspectives, I guess.”

In most cases, the sexual predator doesn’t think what they are doing is wrong.  That’s part of why they are awful people.

I take it to mean that Landis’s behaviour was consistent with the sort of sociopath who could serially abuse women. What Trank actually “knew” may have been much less than that.

Because the other kind of violence is likely to get the law involved, but (historically) sexual violence has a much higher probability of the law looking the other way: if the victim is a woman, because of institutional misogyny; if the victim is a man, because what are you, a woman?

Are we going to get a bingo going for what Max is going to put in his inevitable con-artist mea culpa?

I heard a story from someone who worked with him at a comics shop, and they said he completely intolerable and basically just a complete rich boy weirdo, so I don’t doubt that.

Heard him in the Nerdist Podcast and he was the most unlikable person ever in that podcast. Said something about him having some disease or something that explained why he was so repulsive. Heard him later in a Bizarre States podcast and I couldn’t finish it even when it wasn’t about him. I don’t get why people don’t

I went to camp with Max and roomed with him when we were like 14. My overriding memories of him we’re:

>What is it that makes people ignore every single red flag
>and stay with someone who is evil?

How do I prepare my own kids for recognizing toxic people”

This guy is a pig and belongs in jail if even one of these stories are true.

As someone who’s crossed paths with Landis professionally and in the kind of social situations that come out of professional events, absolutely nothing in this article surprises me in the slightest.

I’ve always loved all 9-5s, but my issue with the earlier ones is the oil sludge which means dropping the pan. Then of course, It’s comfortable and refined, but not as “chuckable” as a 9-3. Finally, as a manual guy myself, I can’t stand that the more refined car has a 5 speed manual and yet, you could get the 9-3s

It made all the other sedans that I drove at an even remotely comparable price point feel like garbage.

The new GLI is the first thing that popped into my head after reading the headline and I’m glad someone picked it.

And they’re quicker than the numbers suggest!

True, but if I had to guess it’d carry just enough weight to keep the wolves from the door up to this point.

His entire career so far has pretty much been the dictionary definition of nepotism, so I wouldn’t be entirely surprised if it was something to do with that.
