We just bought a 2019 Subaru Forester Sport. It was between that and the CR-V. Had this hybrid been out now, we would have bought that. We looked at the RAV4 Hybrid but no Android Auto crossed it off the list before we got far.

I just went on the Jeep site to check this out because I was curious. An absolutely base model Grand Cherokee 4x4 Laredo with NO options is $34,495. Add the $1495 destination charge and you’re at $35,990. Add the 8.625% tax for our area (calculated only on MSRP) and we’re at $38,965. Base model Grand Cherokee with no…
An absolute base model 4x2 GC perhaps. Add the $1400 destination fee or whatever ridiculous price it is now, plus taxes in most states. You're at $36k before you even add the four wheel drive.
Exactly. And with the exception of the Gladiator (which has a crazy residual - think it's in the mid 60% range??), sometimes those "actual" premium brands end up being a better lease deal because of the residuals.
ROTF!
Depends on your use case. We leased for many years because I wanted our family truckster to be reliable and always be under warranty. I budgeted a “rental” for our car and never worried about unexpected expenses. Also, you get out of the car before the first major service in most cases. Also, you can drive way more…
I live on Long Island, and Wranglers are *everywhere*. I just assumed not many are buying. They’re leasing.
Along those lines, we had a hard decision to make when replacing our Grand Cherokee (lease was up). We got a decent rebate on the last one that helped seal the deal. This time I didn’t even look. They pretty much priced us out of the market. Plus, all the related fees have gone up, and it all adds up. Went with a 2019…
Responding way late to this one. This band was a breath of fresh air at that time. I worked at a music magazine when their albums came out and tried to push them whenever I could. Great write-up.
LOL. True story. I have thought that on occasion!
That was the best line. Second was how POLITE the other theaters were. Like she even knows what the word means.
It’s pretty much universally hated, and it adds MAYBE one mpg? With gas at $2.50, we should have the option to turn it off permanently. But: MPG requirements I guess.
I’ve had a Wrangler as a commuter for almost ten years now. It has its obvious drawbacks (mileage, ride), but man, every time I rent another car or ride in someone else’s I’m reminded how great the visibility is and how much I love being up high on the road and seeing so well forward and to the sides. Rearward…
We are in this market, going downscale just a bit as we’re replacing a Grand Cherokee whose lease is up next month. Looked at the CX-5 (not enough cargo space), CR-V (*so* much improved over our 2013), Forester (a little worried about reliability but safety features and functionality are second to none), Tiguan (loved…
I seem to recall at some point you could lease one for a ridiculously low monthly price.
Why is this better than an eGolf?
I love the TourX, but any car that doesn’t let me turn off the auto stop/start gets crossed off the list first, unfortunately. Would have been a great replacement for my 9-5 wagon. :(
I have read they are less of an issue as high elevations. So depending on where you live you might have less exposure, but they really are found everywhere these days. Thank you, climate change.
