My first IronButt I rode from LA to Tahoe, to San Francisco, then back to LA. Yup, up 395. I loved it too.
Sure. And give up the quality of life he has outside of work? Did you think before you posted this dumb idea?
Actual decent responses all around (clearly because Tracy, Orlove, and Torchinsky’s crap responses weren’t published.)
I bought this same battery charger at Costco to resurrect my car that had been sitting for months. Took two days and one night to charge the battery to 75%. (Mercedes tend to have big batteries even if they’re old.)
Just bought a diesel W124 wagon with a 5 speed manual transmission. And about that many miles.
Might be the only one in the country.
Lol. I just bought a German car with 150k miles on it. 255XXX kilometers to be more exact. My forever car together with my BMW 2002. And it’ll easily go to 500000 miles on little more than basic maintenance. Many thousands of taxi drivers around the world can attest.
At an average 16 miles an hour i’m willing to dispute that notion. You realise that a human *RAN* 26.2 miles in two hours. Sure he’s the supreme marathon runner, but the point is your machinery is supposed to make your life easier, not more difficult.
The electric charging infrastructure needs a serious upgrade for…
I drove 934 miles each way from Dallas to Cincinatti and back, in order to be with and console my sister. We lost our younger sister on Saturday. No, not covid.
I have a road bike that i’ve had for nearly 13 years (Fezzari Catania circa 2007) that i’ve neglected for the last five or so years, (it’s just sat and collected dust mostly,) that still has a cleaner chain and cassette than yours.
On my car (i’ve almost exclusively driven the Mercedes W124 for nearly 20 years. I’m on my fourth one, but still have my third one.) I noticed that going from a 195/65R15 tire to a 205/65R15 tire yielded marginal gains in fuel efficiency. Most of my driving was on the highway, and being that it was a slightly taller…
I just bought a similar, diesel, manual, W124 wagon for less than half that price. It didn’t have the AMG bodykit but I don’t need that.
Not an issue on this car. Only an issue on the facelift W124s made in 1994 and 1995.
While this one has been facelifted, it’s got the earlier motor.
Welcome.
I daily an Africa Twin and my rainy day vehicle is a 1991 Mercedes W124 250D. 5 speed. Yes. Wagon. Diesel. 5 speed. It’s my fourth W124 and first long roof. I still have a 1995 E320.
And my baby, a 1976 BMW 2002.
They’re not for off road use, but they’ll go down a dirt road or gravel road just fine. Just like the pictures show.
Um, ... just so we’re clear, we aren’t trying to win over the <checks notes> “fuck your feelings” crowd. They can get fucked. With a rusty running chainsaw. We aren’t interested in conversation with them. A meeting of the minds. Anything that resembles being anything but cordial.
And we don’t need any of them to vote…
He really tried it.
It’s a shit box, not a holy grail. Just because it has a manual gearbox doesn’t mean its a holy grail. Just because it has a turbo, doesn’t mean it’s a holy grail. Just because it has both, doesn’t mean it’s a holy grail. It’s still a shit box.
Well, they *are* Republicans. So if intellect is already missing, low standards can’t be far behind.
Going into the African bush to see the wildlife should be on the bucket list of, well ... everybody. It’s awe inspiring in way that words can’t quite capture.
