It’s odd how so many people talk about the complete drop of the AV Club’s lack of quality when they don’t care about getting even a quarter of the story correct.

I mean, do you want them to pretend like they aren’t true because he’s a Black guy with an R next to his name? Even America’s first and only Black president couldn’t resist making fun of him. SNL also made fun of the speech patterns of a white Democrat who had a stroke. I don’t think there’s much hypocrisy going on…
Well the past few MCU movies (and some other Disney movies) have been banned in China and other regions for those exact reasons. Also, what exactly is the alternative? Just keep letting white actors get all the lucrative, high-profile jobs while all the actors of Chinese descent (and other POC) just sit in the corner?…
Obviously she’s not turning world-class virologists into militant antivaxxers, but there are a lot of people who are on the fence or easily influenced. When you dress it up as “healthy skepticism” or “just asking questions” (and add in some religious stuff) then it goes a lot further.
No need for the condescension. No modern game will ever be perfect on release, but there’s a huge difference between a couple glitches here and there and a technical mess mentioned by tons of people (even reviewers) like the ones seen here: https://kotaku.com/yuji-naka-sonic-hedgehog-dragon-quest-arrested-crime-1849799…
To be fair NPH became big and was cast as Barney before he came out, and hasn’t really done anything big since (although most of the cast of HIMYM hasn’t either except for Cobie Smulders). Hopefully it’ll change but a lot of older gay actors only came out after they got really big roles or avoid talking about it…
I don’t know, I think it’s kinda sad when people feel the need to tear down other projects to prop up their own projects (or when non-fans feel the need to tear down fans of something). If your work can stand on its own then why compare it to something that’s popular and successful?
They’re not saying that it was called “Hathahate” at any point, they’re saying that she was hated for a period of time, and that period of time was 2013. “Hathahate” is a just a term they came up with for this article.
“But, like, power creep” is a pretty lazy rebuttal to what they said.
It’s pretty naive to think it’s an either/or scenario. They’re going to increase prices AND continue microtransactions. And I highly doubt the employees are going to feel the benefit of the increased revenue.
If you really believe they’re going to use the extra $10 per unit to help their staff, reduce the amount of microtransactions, or produce better games then I have a bridge to sell you.
