I've long believed that American anti-Semitism usually fits nicely into one of two categories: liberal ("Jews are white" and hijacking Palestinian narratives) and conservative ("Jews aren't white" and something about banks). I never really thought the two would produce a deformed bastard like this. Pathetic, but

2/10 try harder

As a Northerner, if someone tried to call me "yankee" in a way that was intended to be pejorative, I would just look at them with equal parts amusement and disdain. If I could keep a straight face.

Did you actually do that...?

Yes, I am aware of that poll, and it sounds like you are aware of the problems associated with having self-identified Natives do surveys.

It's up to the people in question—in this case, Irish people—to decide whether or not they find the term offensive. Have you heard of Irish or Irish-Americans taking offense to the term?

I think Yankee stopped being a slur when the people that were being called Yankees successfully reclaimed the term to the point where the song "Yankee Doodle Dandy", once used to mock the colonists, is now considered a patriotic song.

EDIT: I have ancestors who fought in the Revolutionary War.*

*But no one ever asks

I don't think so. The professor (and the class) all zeroed in on their relationship being why it couldn't be rape. I don't remember anyone saying anything about gender.

No one was drunk during the scene I'm talking about. A woman (who is sober) locks up her (currently sober) alcoholic husband's liquor until he has sex with her. Other characters also imply at various other points in the play that the husband is gay and in the closet.

On another note, I'm afraid I can't really explain

But the whole thing with the attorney is that even if the child did want to have sex with the adult, it still would've been rape. Children cannot consent to sex. It's a really bad argument and I think he was hoping to play to the judge's own lack of understanding or apathy—at least, that's the only way I think it's a

Maybe not solved, but ameliorated (and not only guys; we should be teaching everyone about rape)? I've heard guys admit to intentionally plying other people with alcohol/other drugs in order to have sex with them, but they won't call that rape. I've heard attorneys argue that a child victim wasn't raped because that

I'm not terribly familiar with rap or with these particular rappers, so perhaps I'm missing something. Is this supposed to be something other than the perpetuation of antisemitic stereotypes?

Crap, I forgot about that.

And one of the freshman dorms is right next to the music building.
*shivers*

My cat spoons with my head. If I try to move away, the claws come out.

"In the Steubenville case alcohol was involved with both parties before and during the rape."

My point is that there is, as stated in the article, a massive disconnect between the producers and the consumers.

It says that black women are more likely to buy products advertised by a black model. It said nothing of that regarding white women. Perhaps it is you that did not read clearly.

If you can post a source

But Oracle, the fashion history has a long and storied tradition of not using the most basic theories of marketing and advertising. Elle Canada has a surprisingly good article on it. If you have a contradicting source (practical, not theoretical) with which to support your smugness, please post it.

It'd be great if he stepped in before that and stopped the rape from happening in the first place...

My high school, like most in the area, was way diverse and we always made fun of the blinding whiteness of other schools at "away" sports games. "Oh, my eyes! The paleness, it burns!"
