Good lord they’re the same picture. There’s corporate design language, then there’s this level of lazy.

Honestly, I think the new Accord is a better looking BMW than the BMW.
E39 was peak 5 series, in my opinion.
Jeez it looks so frumpy and generic. It looks tall, narrow, and bubbly rather than long, wide, low, and sleek. From the front, it looks straight up like a CUV.
Modern BMW design language is the best thing that has ever happened (and continues happening) to competing automakers.
The 4.0 in the Cayman isn’t a “way better engine,” (not that its by any means bad) and it’s not that exciting to drive around town. The Emira’s supercharged torque makes it pretty easy to lug around and the supercharger whine when you really step on it is lovely.
I know that the Cayman is the benchmark for this price point and class of car. But they’re a dime a dozen. If the Emira is as good as you are saying, I’d buy it in part, because it’s not the Cayman. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Porsche. But, this just seems a little more special.
“Thiiiiiis, is me ruining the warranty policy for Carmax customers.”
As an automotive columnist, you could buy one as claim it as a tax writeoff. Just enabling saying.
the GrandTourismos that have the better transmissions seem to be priced about the same as a Jag F-Type, which is a stupid purchase that also tempts me.
The ZF 6 speed auto is damn near bulletproof and many other cars have used it. OTOH the F1 is crap, as you noted.
They are cheap because they have the worst transmissions ever made. The newer ones hold their value because they have a redesigned transmission and people actually want them.
“ICE has been fully developed, there’s no innovation for ICE anymore!”
You’re supposed to yield when merging, asshole!
It’s Los Angeles.
