I still wish Stacey Abrams was my governor, but I’ll gladly take her help in turning Georgia blue. I live in the Atlanta metro area, and I’ve seen first hand the activism of suburban women. One of these women I know, was so outraged and shocked by 45's win in 2016, she started a Facebook group for like minded people

I’m feeling oddly optimistic.  I wasn’t feeling that way Tuesday night.  It wasn’t the landslide I was hoping it would be.  But I’ll take anything.  Heck, I’m in Georgia and I’m surprised it’s so close!  God Bless Stacey Abrams and her voting rights activism!!

I’m so glad I took today off from work. I know I’d get nothing done at work, as I’d be checking maps all damn day. I knew we may not know who won, Tuesday night, but I was hoping for something decisive. There’s still hope. I’ve been playing with different electoral map combinations, and Biden could squeak by with

My boomer mom voted for Biden because she thinks 45 is awful and a liar. She always wants to say she’s one of those middle of the road people but all politicians are liars, cheats, and whores. She’s reluctantly voted for Biden, but honestly I don’t think she would have cared for any of the other Democratic candidates.

Champagne or sparkling wine has been my election drink of choice the past few elections. Instead of getting the mini bottles, I got a 750 mL. My husband doesn’t drink it, so it will be up to me to kill the bottle. I’m not complaining. I took tomorrow off from work knowing that I may be hungover, in bed crying, or out

The suburbs have changed. There are definitely pockets of upper income white women who vote Republican, but the suburbs are becoming incredibly diverse. As people have moved back into the cities, the poor who used to live there have been displaced to the suburbs. I live in the Atlanta metro area, in the suburbs, and

It’s awful. I’m normally one of those people who falls asleep within minutes of the pillow touching my head. I could barely sleep last night. So on top of election craziness, I got some work craziness thrown at me too. AAAHHH!!!!! For awhile, I have been planning to take the day after the election off. In 2016, I

It’s so interesting how some very junior congresswomen trigger the Right.  They haven’t even completed their first term, and they represent 1.7% of the Democrats in the House.  I do like their progressive ideas and all, but it’s not like they have THAT much of an influence in the House.

Yup.  Voting matters.  We can’t always expect there will be a check on our leaders in power.  I’ll be honest, I had hoped there would have been one for 45.  The GOP is entirely complicit with what has happened.

Exactly. And people will vote for them because they’re a celebrity. Would Arnold Schwarzenegger have been Governor of California if he wasn’t so famous? Probably not. There is something novel about having him as governor, but novelty doesn’t equate to competency.  Sonny Bono, Al Franken, and other celebrities have

I think it’s great to see so many young people enthusiastic to vote for the first time. A coworker was telling me how much research her daughter had been doing when she turned 18 last year, so she would know who to vote for. The first election I got to vote in was in 2000. I hate admitting it, but I voted for Bush.

I feel ya.  With my current job, I’m usually the last person to leave and I lock up the building.  I work in an industrial park, and the area can be semi-sketchy at times.  One VP was pretty upset I’d be in the building by myself.  Everything would be locked up, blinds closed.  The building has had break-ins before.

Also, how many of these missing kids, were white? That makes a difference. I recall while living in central Florida, some pretty white girl went missing, and it was all the news could talk about for weeks. I’m certain multiple minority children who had gone missing, never got that sort of media attention.

After visiting Japan, I wanted a Toto bidet, but they’re expensive. Some go into the thousands and have all sorts of features. I installed a Tushy bidet about a year ago, not knowing what a shit show 2020 was going to be. In hindsight, it was a smooth move.  I went with Tushy as they had decent reviews, their YouTube

Ugh. Vaccines and therapeutics are still months away from being widely available to most people. Until then, it is an economic disaster. I work in a manufacturing environment. Two production workers who are related were at a small family gathering, and got exposed. I’m in a state where COVID is sort of under control.

100% agree. And sexism and hatred for her, that has lingered since the 90s. My Republican dad HATED Hillary with a passion. He even had a doormat to his office with her face on it.  So awful.  That baggage has sadly lingered.  If she was a man, she probably would have won against 45, but I knew Democrats that bought

Most Republicans I know, like to bitch about “victim culture” and that’s what Democrats are supposedly all about.  You know, making everyone into a victim so the government has to bail them out.  Yet, here’s their “tough” guy, who is a perpetual victim.  I don’t get it.

I think some people had hoped, he’d stop with the tweeting, name calling, etc once he became president. I didn’t vote for the motherfucker, but I had naively hoped for the same. Maybe he’d even grow into the position. Nope. After the inauguration crowd size controversy, I knew this was going to be a shit show. And it

It’s sadly going to take a culture change for the fashion industry. You see bits and pieces now and then, when there’s a size, race, age, disability, and gender identity inclusive runway show.  It’s quite refreshing and I adore it.  Until there’s more of a public demand, we’re going to continue to see young models,

By the time emo was the thing, I was getting ready to graduate college in 2004. In reality, I was more of a punk / goth kind of girl vs. emo. However, since I went to an engineering college with a high male population, I was one of the few girls who was into the local punk scene and dressed the part. I dated a few emo
