I would love if Jasper died off-screen and almost no one knew about it.

And killing him in such an unceremonious way - like he had barely mattered to the show. That was pretty thoughtless and cruel.

Make it stop! Make it stop!

This show loves tormenting Clarke so much that Niylah will probably be killed next week and everyone will think Clarke is responsible for her death.

Hmm, I'm not really comfortable with torrenting. I'd rather find a legal means, even if it means having to pay.

I also find the relentlessly high stakes to be problematic. It makes the show bleak, and utterly exhausting to watch. Can't we take a break from all the EVERYTHING'S IN CRISIS ON THE VERGE OF COLLAPSE for a week or two and concentrate on something more mild like, I dunno, more of those hallucinogenic berries from

Oh, I see value in the discussion - if only to remember happier times.

I wish I didn't agree with this.

IGN will sometimes put up a space for commenters to discuss an episode while they get the review ready to go. I wish AVClub would do something similar.

The show has become so relentlessly bleak and pretty much never lets up on the finding-more-ways-to-make-things-go-terribly-wrong that it's becoming harder and harder to hold on.

So many Grounder characters have died, I'm sincerely worried for Indra and Niylah.

I wanna try it but first season is almost nowhere streaming. Stupid SyFy.

I thought season 2 was better through and through without exception - whereas first season started kind of "meh" and then gradually worked up to the level of amazing that the show sustained over the course of season 2.

So Raven has the Darkhold in her head now. This shown has gotten so bloodthirsty over the past season and a half I'm genuinely worried for her future. And if she dies, I will be pissed.

Yeah, that was what really lost him any of my respect.

I attended the Jason Chaffetz town hall a couple weeks back, and I can attest that it is immensely cathartic to see one of these things in person, sharing in the collective emotion that's targeted at a deeply irresponsible member of Congress. To be fair, Chaffetz kept his shit together pretty well - but his implosion

No, you're right. I'm misremembering.

Hmmm, I can see that. I think my issue is that the pattern feels overly familiar: Clarke does a thing she thinks is for the good of everyone, someone doubts her decision, said someone goes behind her back. Like, the show really needs to find new ways of using its characters because I'm finding the pattern tiresome.

That's fair. I do think there's a degree to which people can't entirely be held accountable for their actions once they've taken the chip. Also, I guess I still find him a fundamentally interesting character - flawed, but aware of it.

Oh, I agree. I would love to see Agents of SHIELD get more love. And I think it's fair to compare and contrast - but sometimes I worry that criticism needlessly spills over into dissing on one purely to make the other look better by comparison.
