It was more WWTBAM that put the first nail in the Sunday night movie's coffin. The Practiced didn't soar until it arrived and then the dominoes began to fall.
Financial security for your children and grandchildren: star or produce a 200+ episode-long network murder mystery.
I guess that's plausible. But I'd hope the copy editors questioned its usage. (Not like there's much text to proof anymore)
Seeing the story made me curious if anyone has ever done some long-form journalism on the rise and fall of the broadcast TV movie. It'd surely be a fascinating read.

In my education, I was taught early on to never use "very" in formal writing. Find a better word. "Very last?" Is there a last that isn't really "last?" This headline bothers me.
I really, really liked this episode. In 24 minutes, everyone in this rather large ensemble got the spotlight.
