If you're a woman (your icon suggests maybe you are?) look on etsy. You can get great quality and design for around $50-80 USD. I bought my Mac air bag from uptown chic for $60 and the sewing quality is just amazing. It is done by hand, one bag at a time so there is a lot more care put into it. I highly recommend

I still use media mail. It's not a bad service. You just have to take their warning VERY seriously.

I recently started biking to work to try and fit fitness that's not really fitness into my schedule. I have been walking 3 miles each day already though. I use my 15 minute breaks to go walk a mile, because I need to get out into the sunshine anyway, and then walk the dog at home. It's been great for me.

You should try it out and then report back to tell us if it worked. I can see the LifeHacker article now. "How to hack media mail"

That sucks!

No idea. Maybe they just open all media mail for inspection?

The lady at USPS warned me that if there was anything in the box non-media that it would be inspected. I thought that one thing of candy wouldn't be a big deal. I was wrong. They will warn you, and they will be serious about it.

The students I have had who have been TAs have had a much larger variety of job offers after they graduated than others. I highly recommend it as a learning experience and a great résumé builder.

Correct. I'm your professor, not your mother. I will not hold your hand.

As a professor, I'm going to agree, come to our office hours. We will literally sit there bored half the time because students never stop by. And please, don't come just to complain about your grade. If you come with questions about the content (and not just before exams) we will help you out, that's our job. And if I

Media mail is no joke. If you pack anything else in there they will open the box and remove it. I had a box FULL of books (60lbs worth of paper back) and one tiny package of candy. When the box arrived the candy had been removed. Don't even try shipping non-media via media mail.

Thanks!

Awesome. Good to know.

Here's how my friends and I went to Six Flags:Great America on the cheap, several times every summer during high school. 1. Buy a season pass. If you go more than twice In that summer, it's paid for. 2. Car pool, and everyone put some money in for gas. 3. Arrive late, eat late, leave late. This is a place for small

I miss ebay instant. What happened to all those place that would buy your electronics from you and then sell yours stuff themselves?

While I'm sure it's a good list, the new method of putting in links makes my brain register them as ads.

I prefer the smoothie, and only have a basic blender, so at least I know I'm doing it right! I will often add semi-frozen fruit just to get the right smoothie consistency.

Well, that charge is illegal in the state of WA, meaning that they can't charge you extra for a stand alone DSL over a DSL/Phone line. But I know that this is not true in all states. In IL for example, they can charge what they want.

Check the local legal communications law. In my state, it's illegal to make someone pay for a phone line just to have internet. The company you call won't tell you that because they want to sell both. But if you know the legal presedence you can be more forceful about not connecting your internet and phone. Then you
