Yeah, I've been doing a bit of that already. I have a regular chair for when I'm reading books (as a researcher, I do quite a bit of that). I just don't know if there's a good way to counter the spider veins.

Question. I've had a standing desk for about three months now, and I feel like it's drastically increased the number of spider veins in my legs. Please tell me someone has a suggestion for helping with this problem.
Yeah, when I bought my RoadID I had a converstion with an EMT about whether I should get the wrist band with the website that has more info on it. They told me that Emergency Medical staff will check for an emergency braclette, but if it requires them to get a computer it will be ignored until you make it to a…
Yes! All of those things! Since we have cubicles, it also allows me to say hello to people as they pass by since now I see over the walls.
My most frequent trip (only myself, to see family, 2k miles away) is an interesting idea to drive cause I could see a lot of the US, but doesn't make sense money wise. It's one day of flying vs. three days driving with hotels, food, and extra days off work. I always count extra days off work as negative money, cause…
I know some women who have to keep their addresses very private because of a stalker ex. Like, not listed in public records or phone books, private facebooks and twitter accounts, etc. They literally cannot allow their personal information to become publicly known.
I get a discount from farmers for my degree. They actually asked me what my degree was and told me that this would get me a discount. They were very upfront about it.
I just started to make sorbet at home because I'm allergic to corn...Lol so this article made me a giggle a little at the irony.
Unfortunately, the job I wanted required a masters or better. But I don't regret getting my degree. I was just commenting on being poor because... well... that's what this article is about. Many times graduate school is about pouring your heart into something you love despite the expense. I was told by an adviser to…
Sounds like a good situation. I'm glad somewhere people still look out for graduate students. My masters degree paid for my tuition and $700 a month to live on. That's why many of the students I worked with took on food stamps. I took on as small a loan as I could get by on (it mostly paid fees) and then worked three…
I did some research that found a correlation between depression and online video game playing. At the time however, being that I was close to some of the people who played, it seemed to me that they were depressed for other reasons, but that playing online games (WoW and the like) made them feel better, so they played…
Although, making above the poverty line in graduate school is really rare. You must have gone to quite the school. I know graduate students on food stamps. Nice work on getting into somewhere that values their research monkeys..... I mean students.
It's just a little depressing to be poor for so long. But out of the woods soon. I did a good job of not being in debt afterwords, and that was my mission.
If you want to not be broke, don't go into grad school. I've made less than the poverty line for years. There's no getting out of being broke until you graduate. All you can do is your best to not go into debt.
I would suggest taking an internship or MAKING an internship. What I mean by this is that there are a ton of large companies with internship positions out there and they often hire their interns full time after the 3-6 months of your internship. However, there are also lots of small companies out there who have never…
I don't know that this would work with my slacker problem. He takes on a lot of projects but then doesn't deliver.
You can set your location for Walmart, but it knows the price and availability about 50% of the time I would say.
My spouse upgrades every year like clockwork, so I upgrade every year to last years model. It works for me, cause I haven't bought a new phone in about 3 years.
Hahaha, I didn't have the new gmail box until I followed these instructions and disabled promotions and then it realized that I wasn't running tabs so it changed me over.
I don't feel this way about others either. I'm truly happy for my friends when good things happen to them. The only time I've ever felt this way is when someone at work who I felt was not pulling their weight got a promotion. I didn't feel they deserved it when all they did was make my job more difficult. But when…
