I'd pay double to see the same thing with Congressmen instead of deer.

Somehow I imagine the meeting with Madonna being, like, a personal assistant chasing her through the airport, jumping up and down to be seen over her entourage, yelling questions about what kind of shoes she likes. Then they ignore anything she says and pick a bunch of poorly-selling Lady Gaga style heels to rebrand

I think it was too sanitized, frankly. I remember posting something like "What next, Pixar brings us 'Toy Story 4: The Toys of Gor'? " As neanderthal as it may sound, people have lost their suspension of disbelief in terms of grownup subject matter. I think we're sick of PG-rated pirates and safe-for-work martian

Not to be argumentative, but Devadasi is really about making lower caste girls more clean so they can be raped by higher caste men. It's not romanticizing the girls or the process at all, it's just making disposable people clean enough to rape without the rapist suffering any social stigma.

I'm kind of shocked that an article on Jezebel would omit mentioning that this isn't about poverty, it's about the caste system. People of particular caste are traditionally accepted into certain professions, and not allowed into others. For some castes the selection of professions is limited.

Words are hard to come by for this. If they want 19 kids and can afford them, then there are a LOT of kids waiting to be adopted. If they want another to make it an even 20, then why not adopt some child that needs a home? They could offer foster care to children who really need it.

The same problem occurs in most of the world with tuberculosis patients.

These children are poised to become a powerhouse in the French deodorant industry.

It looks more like the Aerobie galaxy.

My rebuttal would be if we are a species that will inevitably destroy our own planet, then we don't deserve to survive. To perpetuate our existence will just endanger other planets and perhaps even extraterrestrial species if we encounter any.

A dwarf planet is still a planet, right? A compact car is still a car, last time I checked.

Oh, the lost opportunities...

I think they were talking about my comment...

She told those who were trying to ease the situation that she was bi-polar, and she knew people who died on 9/11. She was a person with problems who evidently really believed the plane was going to crash, and so she was demanding it not take off. I'm trying to imagine being in charge of the safety of the passengers

Mitt doesn't really eat grits as much as he'd like to, but he is close friends with someone who owns Paula Deen.

I have never, ever understood post-apocalyptic fashion in film. It makes no sense. It's generally more like dystopian street fashion as seen through the eyes of people who watch a lot of anime. If people are actually trying to survive, the clothes would have a lot more to do with utility and durability.

To do that "In a world..." thing with a female announcer you'd probably have to have, like, Kathleen Turner with bronchitis, or Anne Ramsey, but she passed away ; ;

Ah, I hadn't heard that, thanks.

I'd guess they felt they were helping people out by giving them something to cut and paste.

Psh, original star trek is all about the Nazis. You want Victorian, you gotta roll with Picard.
