Eh, it’s a David Simon show. It would probably limping it’s way to a hundred by late afternoon.

It would be pretty freaky if the whole cast of Alien ended up dying in order, right?
“Sources: In proposal, Silver has discretion to fine teams for resting multiple players in single game, or healthy ones in national TV games.”
It’s kind of incredible when you examine this and see just how many chances ESPN has had to not be total fucking idiots. They just can’t help themselves.
The worst thing about ER staying on the air so long past its prime was when it had to ditch its credit sequence for the final few seasons.
Rumor has it that he’s not even mad and that, in fact, he thinks the whole thing is funny.
Interesting. There were some not so quiet whispers that Abrams and Kennedy had some conflicts on the first one and that Kennedy ultimately won that power struggle (it’s why Abrams involvement in all other Star Wars films has been so minimal, save for a vanity producer credit on The Last Jedi). It makes me wonder if he…
Based on some of the stories the real guy told in that Vice interview Clover linked to, I think there’s plenty to sustain a feature. In particular, his story about serving as David Duke’s bodyguard reads like a ready-made movie climax.
Shame about Clooney’s directorial career. Two promising films at the beginning followed by a parade of turds. No reason to see him as anything but a lousy director at this point.
It’s weird, when Vinyl imploded I kind of assumed it would be to this show’s benefit since it would no longer have some higher-profile HBO show overshadowing it. But it seems to be having the opposite effect. Everywhere I look, the non-critic anticipation for this show seems to be “Vinyl sucked, so I’m not sure about…
Prior to working with Murphy, she was a middle tier TV actress with several failed shows to her name. Since hooking up with Murphy she’s become a TV A-lister, gotten a bunch of awards/nominations, and started landing high profile movie gigs.
I’m all for this. The more all the other tennis players hate Sharapova, the better a storyline this all becomes. If she makes it to the finals, the hype will be in full “Good vs. Evil” mode.
Quick take: Like all Simon’s shows, kind of hard to judge based on one episode, but from an “establishing characters and setting” perspective, it’s probably his best pilot to date.
No joke, about once a month I open an episode of John From Cincinnati on their service just because I really like the opening credits.
His final Letterman guest spot had the perfect punchline. He shook Letterman’s hand and said “We’ll never see each other again, will we?” to which Letterman replied “No, we won’t.”
I had the same issue as Ben Brimm and kristinbytes. I had a Kinja account called alynch345 and a Disqus account called alynch3. I merged them into the account replying to you now. This resulted in me no longer having any follows (i.e. no longer being an approved commenter on other sites).
So.. what happened to that whole “Old comments will be ported over” thing, because right now there’s a whole bunch of nothing when I look up old posts?
Same thing on my end, which is greatly annoying. I enjoyed being an approved Deadspin commenter.
Was worried this would happen. I claimed my old Disqus account and then merged the new account with my already existing Kinja account.
