English or American scones? Because I don’t foresee American ones tasting that great with peaches in them....

Fuck, my anticipation for this game is through the goddamn roof. Yakuza: Like A Dragon looks to be everything I’ve been wanting out of JRPGs not called ‘Final Fantasy’ for a long time.

Riccardi's been awesome going back to the EGM days of old

Yeah, I struggle to see how they could have done anything else to save the business. They pivoted the business model as hard as they could and they still just could not drum up enough profits, and are definitely losing profits to some of the weirder rules, like the one where you can’t dine with non-household groups.

We’ll send the rain; you send the scones.  ;)

My partner’s bar is almost certainly going to shut down when their PPP loan runs up. There’s just no traffic in downtown Seattle to support regular business and they have had to turn some business away due to some of Inslee’s more obtuse rules. She has done valiant job as the front-of-house manager and lone employee

I’m in the middle of a zoom webinar training as we speak, I am a graphic designer and now I’m processing loans, haha

It’s going well as can be. Getting harder to do my runs in the evening since it’s so humid and hot outside. Already get up early for work so I’m not getting up any earlier. Kids at the school behind the house are doing their athletics practice so I need to find a new running location. Aside from that just here in a

I’m having a little mini-freakout about continuing to not have a job today. It’s not nearly to the level of panic attack or anything like that; it’s more that I’m calling myself a fucking idiot more often and louder when I make mistakes. I’ve been talking to a therapist lately, but haven’t gotten to the point that I’m

Good news: so far the tropical storm has been relatively mild (inasmuch as one can be), and is rumoured to blow out by noon.

I was able to get out of work last night at a reasonable hour, a mere 10 hour day instead of a 13 hour day like last week. WFH got extended until the new year, which is both good and bad, but mostly good. I also popped in my gameboy Tetris cart and it worked this time.

So much for straws and camels’ backs!

We’re lucky in that while our state is on the coast, we aren’t, not directly.  So in most cases, that helps!  (We’ll not talk about the outlier that once came roaring up the bay.)  I’m going to charge everything in sight when I get home, including our weather radio, but hopefully these just end up being precautions,

Currently eyeing Isaias and hoping that I’m not going to need to do home repair in the foreseeable future! Everything’s as storm-ready as I can make it, and at least at the present time I’m planning on coming to work tomorrow (albeit with a change of clothes in case I can’t make it home). Have a vague notion of

I’m probably doing some minor stuff in my bathroom in the near future. The shower needs to be re-caulked, and I should really scrape and repaint the ceiling. Whoever did it before did a shyte job.

Have you found the vector for the flies? I had pantry pests once and had to do a total deep clean to find that box of nearly-finished-but-obviously-n0t-finished-enough cereal forgotten in the way back of a bottom shelf. Ugh.

I remember trying everything to get rid of fruit flies back when I lived in my first rental. Apple-cider vinegar didn’t help me much, and in the end it was old-fashioned fly paper that did the trick, hung from the ceiling in 3 strategic places. They were gone in less than 4 days.

As far as home improvements go, hung some shelves in the bathroom last weekend, replaced the shower curtains, and my partner surprised me by getting a canvas print of one of my favorite paintings, Sunflowers by Vincent Van Gogh.

My landlord hasn’t replaced a broken window in my apt for 6 months. I even had to file a police report per his request. Thankfully only the outer panel is busted so air doesn’t get in/out but still... 6 months!

Yeah, when you take it that far, there can be arguments made that you’re doing more harm than good. Simply being conscious of what you’re eating makes a pretty significant difference, being that obsessive (in relation to anything) can’t be good for you physically or mentally.
