Oh snap, I’ve been Bader’d!

Grilling and cocktails? You’re speaking my language here. My wife and I figured out we can use our ice cream maker to make frośe, so that often happens during grilling season. Cheers to a happy birthday!

We got some little gem butter lettuce, mesculin mix, spinach, and beets with their greens still on, along with mint and super fragrant basil this time around in the CSA. Plus early zucchini and a globe shaped American cucumber. I’m crossing my fingers for tiny young artichokes next time around.

I was trying to think of a good kale beat em up joke and now all I can see is Kratos pummeling the hades out of a giant kale bundle. 

I’m in larb with this post. 

Kale is rarely as good as any other hearty green. Chard is where it’s at. 

One of my favorite soups is a simple cabbage and smoked ham hock one. You could crank it up a notch by oven roasting the cabbage first to get some color and char on it. Toss in some potatoes and it’s a nice, hearty bowl. 

Also, friendly PSA: the digital versions of THPS1+2 on the PS4 are FINALLY available for pre-order on the PSN store. 

Forecast says it’s going to be 90 today, so the window shaker is at the ready and the dogs are already splayed out and lazy. Thinking about baking a cake this morning before it really starts warming up.

There needs to be a word for feeling anxious, disappointed, but not surprised. Because that's what I felt reading this. 

Surprised there’s not a in-game magazine or billboard advertising “NEIL DRUCKMANN’S ABOUT TO MAKE YOU HIS BITCH” right before [spoiler] is brutally murdered.

Maybe a dejected George Michael Bluth walking by a beagle sleeping on top of a red dog house?

My career change a decade or so ago was rough to get it off the ground. Friends who have done the same had similar experiences--getting that boulder rolling is the hardest part.

The music and overall soundscape is top notch. And I do think that the storytelling is very well done and actually quite effective. I just think the Joel type has suffered from some oversaturation in media, and where I’m at today versus where I was at release definitely colors my impression of him this time around.…

Right! Joel is too grim and gruff to make jokes after finishing up a murderbox, so Ellie does it instead. Nathan Drake gets to do his own quips because he’s charming.
