Definitely not this year, but my holiday go-to is always Sufjan Stevens’ plethora of Christmas albums. Just so good.

Shout out mention to the creepy sociopath nurse who, it turned out, was made mad by being severed from her daemon. Lyra put it together right at about the same time the viewer does. Great little scene in very action/creepy/setting specific episode. Favorite overall episode so far.
I guess ignorance is bliss? I found this episode genuinely suspenseful. The portrayal of the children with their shaved heads and visible shock........I almost hate to say this comparing to real world atrocities, but it was not unlike footage of children in concentration camps in WWII (or more to the present, migrant…
That’s all fine, but if you sell something as “chicken” it should actually be chicken.
I love Rick and Morty, but that shit is aggressively niche.
Speaking as a former art student, I refused to play that game. Especially with post-modernist art that was mostly about eliciting a reaction. Professors hated me in art history class.
THEM: What’s your opinion on the controversy of Piss Christ?
ME: I have no opinion, because the work itself is inherently meaningless.…
The part that had me dying was when Hologram Rick was like “oh shit wasps!” and started running away, but since he was a hologram he just ran in place. Those kind of gags make this show.
Sir, this is a Wendy’s.
I was skeptical when the show was renewed for 70 more episodes, as I wasn’t the biggest fan of the third season, but this was a fantastic premiere. Best jokes for me were the alternating universes Rick kept getting sent to. The back-to-basics approach really worked well.
I think I would agree with her point more if a man (Charles Rocket) had not had his career, and even his obituary, defined by saying “fuck” on SNL.
(Corolla’s basically a libertarian atheist)
i have to admit i still don’t understand what was wrong with that scene. there are most definitely pan people who call themselves that because they see ‘bi’ as exclusionary and too coded. i guess the taco/burrito metaphor was awkward? but it still made sense in the context of why she didn’t feel right calling herself…
Also, those that get “cancelled” dont actually...this power people pretend critics on twitter have is mostly not existent. Yes, be openly racist and you will lose your job (see: Roseanne), but that’s not the same as making an occasional bad joke.
Kroll’s statement is a great rejoinder to those who cried “waaah cancel culture” about the Big Mouth controversy. First of all, no, the show wasn’t fucking canceled, and nobody’s still calling for it to be. That’s because second of all, creators who sincerely apologize when criticized - even creators who, like Kroll,…
I clicked on “How to Date Natalie Dormer” for this?!?!
And at ten seasons too!
Sometimes when you try to cover something up you have to look incompetent to avoid looking guilty.
One thing that really struck me about this ep was how much the finger-pricking was in character for Tina and Louise. Louise can’t admit she’s squicked, Tina just goes and does the deed.
“I heard skeletons are inside all of our bodies every day”
Some of the pig stuff actually felt unsettling now and then without compromising the humor, so props to that.
