Even though Marta makes precisely the same offer to “take care of” Meg.

Unfortunately, I don’t have the book to hand, but I do remember reading a description of a device that functioned exactly like a laser printer. A quick google search for “john brunner laser printer” suggests that I’m not the only one who noticed this.
