Oh, man, this is SO MUCH like the inspirational quotes teachers have all over their walls. Teachers: lots of us are basic bitches!

Generally, it’s the least-feminist people on my feeds that go for this shit, too.

This is a specific plot to take down America. I have nothing against the Russian people, and to any that want to move to America and become American, I say: great!

My husband is an engineer, and his company has a branch in Ohio (and everywhere else in the world- it’s basically Veridian Dynamics). He was sent to Ohio on a business trip. The Ohio engineers started talking with a bunch of MAGA shit, and luckily my husband’s boss shut the conversation down before anyone got in a

I’m thinking a dash of Eternal Sunshine, too.

I hadn’t seen a clip of this series since season 1. It seems like a meaner version of logistical conversations that my family has when travelling places together. Why would anyone want to watch that?

It’s kind of a long story involving Tig Noraro’s interactions with Taylor Dayne. Now you have homework: Go watch Tig’s standup!

In my husband’s family’s crazy branch, it’s the fact that the evangelical outweighs the Hispanic. They believe that the #1 most important issue is legally banning abortion (not, you know, reducing abortion- just banning it), and they don’t give two fucks about anything else.

Yup! And something like nudity in front of a camera crew *might* just be something a person would say, “I think I can do” and then find out later that they really weren’t OK, and it’s OK to change your mind!

Teavana? Great?

No. She was the best part of each of them, but neither movie really worked.

“My singing voice or my speaking voice?”

Bumbling Hugh Grant works when it’s only temporary- because he’s nervous because he likes the lead actress so much, so he bumbles. As an “all the time” thing it doesn’t work nearly as well. That’s why Notting Hill is one of his stronger ones where he affects that personality- he doesn’t bumble all the time, just when

Totally agreed! I think vaping kids = depressing, but targeting a kid for major humiliation due to vaping= not gonna work or help.

I live in New England, too, and many of these are *more* true in New England than other places.

I think he was at The Atlantic when TNC started; I remember him talking about how shitty that felt in an interview.

You compared vaping to cigarettes. In my experience, kids who vape would *definitely* not smoke cigarettes. It is a huge thing that is picking up steam among children, when cigarette smoking was almost stamped out among younger people.

Har Har Har.

...but it’s not cigarettes or vaping. It’s not doing any of the above or vaping.

Same. That read a lot like the book “Shooter” by Walter Dean Myers, in the parts from the POV of a school shooter.
