I was born in the town that invented the OG Coney Dog, not Chili Dog (in Michigan - and no, it probably isn’t where you think, unless you KNOW). In the early-1900s, it was invented by a Greek immigrant who was trying to capture some flavor of what he knew, and had discovered on his way through the New York area at

I’ve always been a bit of a brainiac nerd, and when I was a kid, my aunt bought me this book (1988's More of the Straight Dope, by Cecil Adams). It was based off of the newspaper column, wherein people would ask questions (before the world wide web), and “Cecil” would answer them. Somebody had written in, asking why

Someday I intend to get at least one ELR (maybe a black one for me, and a white one for the missus) - it largely has the styling of the CTS coupe that I love, the benefits of a town-range electric, and the long-range usability of a gas-powered car.
