I made a replica of Merkury 4 for Forza 4, a long while back. It should still be available on my storefront, if anybody should want to go snag it (gamertag: AlsoKnownAsRukh, if anybody still plays Forza 4). It’s free, so unlike this real “homage” it won’t cost you a million smackeroos.

Excellent use of the Egmont Siegessymphonie. Good ol’ Ludwing Van...

I see more McLaren F1 in the doors.

I’m with you. I think the R129 is one hell of a classy design. Might add one to my stable, eventually.

The whole front opens up, a la BMW Isetta.

The concept is impressive, and the execution is neat, but the results are somewhat less than adrenaline inducing. It says a lot about the video when I find myself wondering more about how they solved the windshield problem when widening the truck, more than focusing on the burnout.

I think the problem is just this mindset that energy drinks are worse than coffee, or sweet tea, or mountain dew, soda, or any other high-sugar drink. People hear “energy drinks are so bad for you” then just parrot it without knowing why.

I am a teacher, and I drink energy drinks during the day because I dislike the flavor of coffee. I get a lot of “those are really bad for you” comments from people (both adults and students), sometimes the same people who have a Venti Pumpkin Spiced Latte (or whatever is seasonally appropriate) in their hand while

I am not surprised that it was due to overbearing pressure from a VW CEO, I am surprised which CEO they feared. I thought for sure this was all going to boil down - directly or indirectly - to pressure from Piech.

Think of it like you think of rechargeable AA batteries. They all have the same form-factor, but different tech with differing energy densities. At the end of the day though, they all fit in any device that uses AA batteries. Some devices use 2 AA batteries, some devices use 1, some use 6; those devices all use the

I do really love the idea of the extended range electric vehicle, and I actually liked the Mk1 Volt that I got to drive. It felt special, like one was driving the future; it was an event. The new Volt, which I haven’t driven yet, is probably better in many measurable ways, but I think the design is too conservative

The “killer-app” in electric vehicles keeps eluding all of these companies because they’re all focusing on solving the wrong problems. I’m a car guy AND a proponent of electric vehicles, but I don’t think EVs will truly take off until charging stations and battery packs are standardized, making them swappable at

Now that we found fug

For anyone wondering, the video does not show anything graphic or gruesome. It fades to black and possibly cuts audio during the actual crash, then fades back in with a shot of some interior component and the voice of a witness/responder.

There’s so much going on here, that it took me a while to notice that it seemingly has no front brake to speak of.

But that’s the name of the place?

It was a Citroen produced with the cooperation of Maserati. Technologies were traded between the two manufacturers (Maserati engine in the SM, high-pressure Citroen hydraulic systems in Maseratis) because Citroen owned Maserati from 1968 to 1975. So, while it was technically a Citroen, the Maserati name featured
