Filler actually put me off from continuing the anime. I stopped the anime after pain and started reading the manga. I don’t mind well done filler but sometimes there is some terrible filler (I am looking at you Bleach) that can really put you off a series.

It is well worth it to invest like 15 into Arcane just to use the Arcane Weapon spell. That was the only magic item I was really interested in using because sometimes you don’t need your bullets for certain enemies or bosses so a nice damage up is always welcome.

I get that secondary characters basically became massively outclasses following Pain. We had some surprise ridiculous people though like Guy. I liked the start a lot when Shikamaru took down Hidan the side characters had a lot of promise.

I enjoyed Shippuden way more than the original kid chapters myself. Nothing else really comes close to the Pain arc. The last arc with the War was pretty awesome too just because you got to see all of the ninja legends that the entire series had mentioned in passing and stuff fight it out.
