Passive-aggressiveness is a component, but it categorically fails to capture the style that comes with true shade.

THE MASTER CLASS

I feel so bad for women with regard to makeup. No one should be expected to paint his or herself to be considered attractive/acceptable.

A reminder: The definition of SHADE, and the difference from READING.

Olivia Benson is ageless.

Sophia Loren is really my all-time favorite film goddess and she's generally so incredibly classy and together without being uptight, so I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE it when she lets this subtle bit of hilarious cattiness out just enough to make me LOL.

One time my boyfriend asked how come I don't wear makeup (note: not as an insult, we got into the discussion of it because some of his coworkers were getting in trouble for overdoing their faces) and I answered "Are you joking?! I wear it all the fucking time!!"

Shade Court is the single greatest regular feature of Jez: the Next Generation.

Congratulations on your sobriety. Reading stories like this is terrifying because it makes you realize a person can live, and die, with no clarity, no insight, no peace of mind. Their life isn't a narrative, isn't a tragedy, it's just a huge, endless mess.

For the record, she has apparently already tried that route and came to your same conclusion. Every few years I see something about this guy and it's always, "Madonna abandoned me! Madonna won't help me!" And it's all bullshit.

I heard about him a few years ago (I think it was in Daily Mail, ick) and the story stated that his family has paid for several rehab stays for him. It's not like he became an alcoholic and they bailed. No, they bailed after repeatedly trying to help him get sober.

Madonna has paid for her brother to go to ultra-high-end, intensive, long-term rehabilitation centres quite a few times. I did some reading on him the last time he sold stories about her to the press, and he's a pretty depressing, self-pitying piece of work. He's abandoned rehab every time she's paid for it, and

Or, he refuses to go. You can't force an adult to get help. Have you ever had to prove that an incredibly intelligent, masterfully manipulative person is a threat to themselves or others? It's a hell of a task.

That's what it sounded like to me, despite the headline. There comes a point with addicts where you have to walk away. When he says she won't help me, he probably means won't give him money. Money that he would spend on fueling his addiction, not getting help. Second oldest story in the book.

Not a fan of Madonna, but in this case I think it's better to let her family handle family business. A rich sibling is not obligated to support anyone.

Lena Dunham has been accused of child molestation?! Isn't that a bigger story than Madonna's brother?

I live in Traverse City- the town where Madonna's brother is a well known homeless man and her family owns a vineyard. He is well known to people in town and clearly has mental issues. This is an old story here because the family has actually tried to help him so many times and every time he goes off again he attacks

Knowing a number of recovering addicts (including my fiance), I have to say that the onus is certainly not on Madonna to fix her brother's life with her wealth.
It's obvious his problems go FAR FAR deeper than finances, and you cannot save someone who refuses to take the step to save themselves no matter how much money

Hey, man, I have several relatives I dislike too. When they die, I will not care. It happens.

Well, Hayden, that's the price I suppose you pay for dating Frankenstein.
