Pretty much, yes. All the fantasy/sci-fi stuff is impacted by the strike, so all we get are tiny budget non-union productions, and horror is a tge most popular genre in that space.

IIRC the smaller studios (at least some of them) cut deals with SAG and the Writers guild to keep working.
A $50m subsidy doesn’t bring costs down, it just means that taxpayers somewhere footed the bill for this movie. If nothing else, a doubled budget means this is a pretty high-risk enterprise for the MCU.
YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE EARLY BIRD SPECIAL!
The extreme incompetence at X is striking.
I feel like there was this window of time when everybody had a Star Wars movie in development. Before the Star Wars brain trust got super skittish and slammed the brakes on everything. I’d love to hear the inside scoop on every major project they announced (and didn’t announce) and how they fell apart.
Looks like they pulled that unused wig out of storage from The Lord of the Rings behind the scenes feature.
there was never “50 years of Star Trek animation” to begin with. It began and ended with the original cartoon from 1973. There were no follow-ups until Lower Decks’ semi-satire and this most recent thing with Capt. Janeway as a hologram.
Frakes is easily the torch bearer of Trek at the moment.
That is legitimately one of the best audio commentaries I’ve ever listened to.
Sounds more like a head full of blow and half a bottle of tequila rage tweeting at 4 in the morning.
No it doesn’t, supernatural forces aren’t real. Grow up.
Seems like it broke even worldwide, which is honestly better than I expected. For comparison, The Flash was something like $50-$60 million in the black last I heard but also had twice the budget, character recognition and way more marketing.
wow, that was kind of fast wasnt it? i thought it was a 45 day wait before it came out on digital with a lot of WB movies. it wont even be 40 days since it was released.
I am not deliberately doing anything. You used a common phrase and I questioned it. You are a writer. That happens.
Being weird about quoting you directly?? I think your use of the phrase “good taste” both in the article and this follow up comment is bizarre.
Especially since nothing here says Casper at all, except the title.
Covering a “proof-of-concept” trailer for “CASPER”?
Today Marvel confirmed that writer Christos Gage and artist Greg Land
NO!!! STOP BRINGING THEM TO THE PRESENT!!!
