Not getting any edge or 3g data connection here in Orlando. Weird to see the iPhone with 5 bars, the AT&T and then a big gap where my little e or 3g should be, heh.

@szrimaging: She did understand tabs, once the guy finally mentioned them, over halfway through the call. She just didn't know you could close them one at a time. She probably just closed firefox when she wanted to close tabs and then restarts at google, which should be a fine tab to leave open anyway.

@FriarNurgle: It would be pretty easy to wind up with half that stuff. I get really mad every time I come across an installer that has any toolbar install checked by default.

@En0s1: I was infuriated with the tech more than the caller. She was just upset that google was blaring pacman sounds by default, which was idiotic of google, not the caller.

@Samo: Yeah! Wanna post? Setup an elaborate system, where... I don't know... you have to get approved or something before people can read what you type... oh wait...

I don't really see anything wrong with this call, having the google page blaring out pacman sounds was annoying as hell.

"But iAds? Innovative, compelling, interactive and—on a platform which disallows browser plug-ins like Instapaper—completely unignorable."

Isn't the New York Times going to sue them for this? The whole 'no frames' thing?

@xsbs: Unless your chorded phone is through the cable company... because those battery backups never freaking work.

@xsbs: To be an ass, if he didn't invent the cellphone, someone else would have. The tech was there and on the cusp, and he just got credit for being first to implement.

@beatledud: Not an iPhone dev, but from their perspective, the iphone is really attractive in terms of it being a blank slate with a huge userbase, and it runs relatively fixed hardware. The new screen size and incremental jumps in processor power are some challenge but you don't have to worry about developing for

Couldn't someone put in their terms that you are not allowed to view their web page even for NON-commerical uses and then write cease and desists to all browsers?

OOOH! Look! Someone even dumber than the CEO of Blockbuster!

@cdimarzio: How is streaming through an internet connected bluray any LESS complex than streaming through an internet ready wii or xbox?

@Arthois: Exactly. "OBVIOUSLY its the future!!!!". Unless the caps spread and stick. Then it isn't the future. Then it is a flash in the pan everyone will laugh at as a failed idea.

@Tightlines: I was really hoping for one myself. I seem to always end working inside freaking bunkers where I can't get 3g and flaky 2g even, so I cannot stream music.

@Kaiser-Machead: What could they have done to solve that problem? My understanding is that there were just too many wireless networks in one room, and the wifi band was not wide enough. Other than not allowing in anything that can make a wireless hotspot (I am sure there are WATCHES that can make wifi hotspots now),

@justinpe: Iphone has been out, what? 3-4 years now? Why do you seem to think custom sms tones are on the horizon?

@drewheyman: The link should by dynamic and show how many petrol bomb stories they are though, to avoid clicking through it when there is only one.
