Donald Trump is a white supremacist. At the very least, this is a very credible opinion, if not a fact. He is an awful person who deserves the scorn of every man, woman, or child on planet Earth. As is eluded to in one of the responses above, if everything that was said by an ESPN person were heavily scrutinized to

“Some guy called Justin Lin a chink once and we fired him, so I don’t see why we can’t fire this lady for calling Donald Trump a white supremacist.”

Black people: protesting

I’m Jemele-leaning conflicted.

“What I was trying to get across was that what the ESPN writer wrote was allegedly a mistake that was taken into a different context than what he intended.”

Takeaway: There are some dumb MFers at ESPN. Seriously, one person can’t see the difference between the Lin incident (which involved an unwarranted racial slur - that might have been an accident, sure) and a label (supremacist) ostensibly based on a person’s actual past activities?

Why is the right so bad at analogies?

This idea that calling white supremacists white supremacists is a “political opinion,” or even political speech, is a pernicious trend of thought. Plays right into it.

She made a *statement of fact.*

People keep comparing this to things that got other people fired. Racist and sexist and homophobic things. It’s not Racist to call Trump a white supremacist. I am not sure he is, but he has done NOTHING to show me he isn’t. Look at everything he has said and done and a reasonable person could think he was. Reasonable

I keep seeing “we have not control over POTUS” as if it is a legitimate excuse to keep calm and carry on as if we weren’t being led by a festering boil of a human being. You may not have any control over him but you are abdicating any kind of responsibility as a citizen if you think his actions have no bearing on

I probably shouldn’t be, but I’m surprised by the number of “no matter your opinion, don’t rock the boat” comments represented here, and how many feel like protecting the ESPN brand, whatever the fuck that is, is somehow a worthy endeavor.

“Businesses need to be politically agnostic or they risk alienating large swaths of the country whether you agree with them or not.”

When you get right down to it- all she did was say what the NY Times has been saying for months and what a large plurality of Americans already believe.

Nah, you don’t actually have to invite her, and the proof is right there in her ‘We’ll see about that’ response. You invite people to your wedding who are there to support you, on your day, as you embark upon the wonderful experience of having your relationship legally and religiously authorized and recognized. Her

think you missed the point here, chief.

I see that we’ve now entered the phase where, when facing incontrovertible evidence about Trump’s character, the Trump supporter begins throwing out false equivalencies and Hillary. In the mind of a Trump supporter, this somehow restores Trump’s character and invalidates any aforementioned facts about Trump’s racism.

Doesn’t work that way, Bobby Joe.

Separated at birth?

It’s extremely treacly and maudlin. Obviously millions disagree with me, but I wouldn’t recommend it. There’s some very good acting in it, but the scripts and score and direction are so corny.
