I live in OK, and that’s EXACTLY what they tried to pull with the last election. We had a SQ on the ballot to allow beer higher than 3.2 and wine in grocery stores and BOY you’d have thought liquor stores would have immediately gone out of business by the way they were acting.

Except that they’re making Super Troopers 2. Which I am equal parts excited to see, and dreading.

I’m not an enormous Kevin Smith fan, although I do like everything up to and including Clerks 2, with the exception of Jersey Girl, but I totally agree with you. Although I will say that the first time I saw Clerks 2, I fucking HATED it. I don’t know what happened the second time (if I had to take a wild guess it

I think Freddie Highmore is an excellent actor, and the stuff he did last season was the very best I've ever seen him. Few are as good as Vera Farmiga though.

I had a 2000 Accord that was white also! Mine was a coupe, also manual transmission. Hail totaled it about five years ago with like 190k on the odo, but I NEVER had any issues with it otherwise, other than replacing the brake light switch once, and the cruise control stopped working at some point. Never even replaced

I haven't heard Steven Page's solo stuff because I was scared that it would be bad, but it seems pretty clear now that he was the true talent from that band because BNL is just fuckin' AWFUL without him.

See, that's so weird bc my experience was the exact opposite! Horrible on the Good News tour for me (but I'm pretty sure Isaac was wasted and that seems to be the deciding factor on whether they'll be good or not).

Like I said, I've seen them pretty recently and they were pretty great. Their tickets usually aren't expensive either - seriously, give them a shot!

I’m going to be pedantic here and point out that I think you mean “cachet.”

The League did an episode where Taco couldn’t figure out which was which... it was a pretty good one.

I thought Songs About Jane was a pretty decent record, honestly. Everything after that makes me want to blow my brains out, but SAJ still holds up.

I'm not wild about Codes and Keys either, but I really can't help but love "Stay Young, Go Dancing."

They're hit-or-miss live, so I understand someone having had a bad experience. The first time I saw them, in 2004, they were just fucking AWFUL, but in the three times since that I've seen them (twice in '08 and once in '15) they were unbelievably good - the first show in '08 is maybe the best one I've ever been to,

Oh man, me too. I really can't do punk anymore.

I love Deja Entendu so much that I've always had a hard time with Devil… as much as I objectively recognize that it's a great album, and I definitely don't want a band to keep making the same album over and over, it's still a harder listen for me.

I don't like Kings of Leon either. Except for "Four Kicks" and "Closer" which I feel like I shouldn't like? But I do, so whatever.

"King Rat" fucking rules, and it's awesome live. Also, yeah, I agree with you for the most part - I find We Were Dead eminently listenable and I think it's a great album. I like Good News a lot (and I still listen to "Bukowski" probably once a week) but I agree that We Were Dead is better, as a whole.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I like it but it hasn't grabbed me in a way that all the others did. "Pistol" is easily the worst song they've EVER done, though, and maybe one of the worst songs I've ever heard, period.

I really loved BNL when I was younger too, and I dropped out at the same you did… with the exception of "War on Drugs" which is a fucking gorgeous song. Everything else they put out after '01 that I heard (other than that one song) has been garbage.

My Jeopardy knowledge tells me you’re correct about Ford and Rockefeller, as it was a Final Jeopardy question not too long ago, I believe.
