<gets sued by Energizer Batteries and Viagra>

Agreed. They will stop a deer from wrecking a jeep from end though. Speaking from experience.

Originally they were for animal strikes in the bush, where you would still have a messed up rig but your radiator wouldn’t be cracked leaving you stranded. They aren’t meant to be invincible, and quality makes actually make their airbag compliant. These days they are mostly for light/which mounting points as well as

Watch out folks. water is wet. The first clue was that they were built in a tent.

I don’t get all the hate in the Jalopnik comments about this car. I think it looks great, more like the supercars it is trying to emulate, it sounds incredible, and it will be an excellent value for the level of performance. Is it a badge thing?

Your not David Tracy. Penalty, 5 yards.

I love overlanding rigs. I couldn’t give two shits about “real” offroading, but I like the idea of a rugged camper that can go a bit further off the path than the lot at your local KOA.

Hmmm... David, I think you accidentally logged into Andrews account.

I love the lack of any reaction from the pedestrian standing on the corner. Not that I’m surprised seeing as this is such a common thing.

Brownie points for that video of a cut-away engine in motion. So satisfying.

Seriously, no picture of the carbon fiber mowing blades?

Are you fucking kidding me?

Fuck.  At least he died living his dream.  That’s more than most can say.

My dad has a 57 chevy budget restomod. In his binder is a cheat card. If you are asking for suspension parts - tell them it’s a 77 Camaro; if they are asking about engine part, tell them it’s a 96 Chevy Cheyenne - etc... pretty smart workaround.

I’ve got standard copper plugs and I change them every 50k with no difference in power or economy and no visible wear on the electrode.  Given the price difference, Im sticking with copper.

So fucking frustrating.

AZ: What’s it for
Me: It doesn’t matter.... HERE is the part number.
AZ: I have to cross reference it
Me: No you don’t. HERE IS THE *&#$# PART NUMBER!

Interesting coincidence on the timing of this article. I am a graduate student that does research in the field of pulsed power. The IEEE Pulsed Power and Plasma Science conference is this week. The founder of TPS, Dr Martin Gundersen, was our plenary speaker on Monday. This tech is something he has been working on for

I recently did an alternator swap onto a car from the 60s that had a generator.

I would like to acknowledge the genius of this header GIF.

Sigh. Guess I will drag you out the grays for a response here. A smaller v8 would have the exact same # of parts as this one. Part count doesn’t scale with displacement. And if you meant that somehow a V6, having two less rods and pistons, would be more durable because less parts.... I mean, c’mon dude.
