So ...it's a window unit with an app? I'm all for conserving energy, but I'm also getting a little tired of flat white panels with rounded corners deemed as awesome new technology.

Can't seem to find the winner in the Flickr album. Am I missing something?
As a God fearing Catholic, that sir ....was hilarious.
This might be a stupid question, but I always thought any research/development/discoveries/'inventions' produced through public funds — i.e. NASA — were all public domain? How are they issued patents?
Nice article. Very tough topic to cover in such a short space.
This is interesting. I had initially thought it was more of a range/speed issue, but I suppose that directly relates to a mess with tower hand-offs.
I actually did read yesterday evening that they are not targeting naturally occurring trans fats and this will not effect meats. At least for now.
Wow.
As am I. However, you will not find me in too many establishments that still allow smoking indoors.
I don't know how you make the conclusion that naturally occurring trans fats will be differentiated from synthetic trans fat. The FDA is moving to remove all trans fats, regardless of origin. If I have missed that part of their proposal, please reference it.
Ah. Damn it. You got me on necessarily. Touche.
Please see my explanation on my egg comments in my response to the John.
I thought you were referencing the 40 years mentioned by Raded and wasn't sure if you were mixing my comments with others.
Nope. Try again. I never said anything about 40 years. I did reference changes made several decades back by the FDA that are more than partly responsible for the current prevalence of trans fat in the foods available today. I then continued on to make the point that laws based off reactionary science leave us flip…
So how about we leave them as recommendations and not rewrite the books every 6 months?
I'm not sure where you are getting that 90% of foods sold at the grocery contain trans fats. Everything in my kitchen was bought at a generic grocery and/or Walmart and none of it has trans fat in it — with the exception of some potato chips and maybe one or two other things I consider snacks or treats. I would…
You are absolutely right with regard to the progression of our scientific understanding of what is healthy and what is not — with regards to everything, not just this topic.
It's interesting that in all the stories I've read about this today, no one seems to recall that one of the main factors causing the rise of trans fats seen in foods today is due to changes made several decades back to curb the amount of saturated fat. Changes brought about by ....wait for it ...the FDA. Changes that…
Very nice of them to manage all those encryption keys for us. ...no way the NSA would ever 'ask' for those.
