I encountered a +10 year increase in the average age of guys contacting me on OKCupid when I was 41 vs 43 (pics were the same, profile was the same). We’re talking 55-65 years old. Meanwhile I had college guys checkign me out in real life. So yeah, I think a lot of it is about what they think your age is.

I totally agree. This needs more stars. It is bizarre to have a guy come over and chat you up, ask if he can buy you a drink, and then freeze when he learns how old you are (like, the same age as him). It’s based on some number he has stuck in his head and not whether he is actually physically attracted.

Pretty much every woman has this kind of story... and yet, that chart shows an awful lot of twenty-something guys think 40+ women are the most attractive. I know a ton of that is cougar-fantasy stuff, and driven in large part by porn, but even so, it’s apparently created some sort of actual interest. So does that mean…

As a man in his 40s, who is around younger women a great deal — I’m a university instructor/PhD student — I can both attest to the male tendency to desire young women and offer, I hope, a glimpse of men (some men) who really don’t seek out much younger women. I’m aware that in this forum, any approach to positioning…

I wish men would look at that graph and realize that even if they want young women, they can’t have them.

Mental health care is just not a priority for politicians. A lot of the time, a person’s probation officer is the sole person holding their safety net, and that’s not the PO’s job. It’s horrible.
