I no longer download shows. I like Hulu. I will NOT pay for the stuff that is now on Hulu. I also like reading, geocaching, napping in my hammock and fishing. I will happily do a lot more of these and no more Hulu at all if cable service authentication actually goes through.

Every time I see this picture I want to walk up to her and sit down very quietly, staring at her silently. All so that when she feels she is being watched she will peek out and having the ever-loving crap scared out of her.

Podcasts!!

We did this last year and it works pretty well as far as keeping plants healthy.

No Cap. The water is not stagnant; it drains out and is replaced every few days. Also, the drip is pretty slow already, with the cap off. Keep in mind that in the summer heat plants use/lose a lot of water, so having the drip be a little too fast just means some water is lost to evaporation and some is lost downward

Well, the lawsuits still happen, but with signs and warnings they are successful less often. So apparently they happen less now, and cool things can be built in playgrounds once again.

Things are changing here in the U.S. Skate parks, this 30 foot climbing pyramid in Utah...

So, the movement from one organ, the uterus, and through and out another (the vagina), or perhaps moving from the uterus out through an abdominal incision, is the magical transition from not-person to person?

self-erecting cranes build themselves. Really. There is a frame that mounts onto the cab and the tower. The crane lifts another tower segment into position directly underneath cab. Segment is installed. frame lifts cab again, making room for new segment under cab (and within frame) again. repeat as desired. Reverse

Another concern I have is my software leaving little trails around. If I mount a truecrypt volume then edit a document from this volume in excel, I try to be sure that associated temp files are also stored in the mounted device that is really the truecrypt volume. I have heard such temporary files are an easy way to

It can happen. With Truecrypt this happens when/if the encrypted file or volume's header gets corrupted. HOWEVER: Truecrypt forces you to build a way to restore these headers. If you encrypt the entire drive, you cannot proceed until you create a rescue disc image (with volume reader restore capability), burn it to

I don't know, and I wish I did. I bet a quick google search would turn up something.

Why wouldn't they control this from on board the ISS? It seems like ensuring a strong control signal would be easier.

I don't know. My favorite shirt (very ratty now) says "quit wishin', go fishin'" with some appropriately redneck fish and tackle graphics.

That's how the edit thing works, sadly. One edit per comment! I have to remember to cut and paste if I want to re-edit a comment or I just give up.

Upon further thought, I have to think Iran is not stupid enough to fall for this. They have to be pretty gun-shy after stuxnet. If they are smart enough to crack the encryption on the drone's systems I would expect they are isolating all the code they retrieve. I know I would.

Oh my goodness. I have not even considered this. A virus payload in the drone code? That would be BAD ASS.

Although that may have prevented a hell of a lot of problems for everybody were it true.

I really doubt anything of the sort will happen. As with the 1960 U-2 crash in the Soviet Union, if the U.S. government flies covert surveillance drones over foreign territory they accept the risk of losing it and having someone else recover it.
