Those used to be the broiler in all old ovens I remember. They were for the most part not very good at the job. The in oven broilers work better, you can adjust how close the food is to the flame. In the old broilers, I saw, the flame was always too close.

This would have made it easier when I bought an SSD. I put the OS on it but I had always had Steam and the games on another drive, which was a spinner. Games of course run much better on an SSD.
