I’ve always said I’d much prefer to get to know some of the other crew rather than yet *another* Burnham-centric plot; last season it really bugged me that we got to see Airiam fleshed out, just so we’d care about her being killed. And here’s another one. Ick. 

The timeframe from the last Mirror Universe contact fits nicely with Star Trek Online’s Temporal War mission set which has portions in the 27th century and involves the Mirror Universe being foes. The slow Alpha canonization of Beta canon is nice. Robert April, Una, The Kzinti, The USS Titan as Luna class now…

Thing is, Bruce Timm actually loved the episode. He actually selected that episode to do one of the handful of commentaries on the DVD set precisely because he thinks the episode gets a bad rap.

Even good shows have their “fuck it, let’s just phone in some crap” weeks.

It didn’t appeal to me at the time because it was before Dwayne Johnson really blew up and his character was basically a villain in the previous Mummy movie. Hell, I’m actually more likely to watch it now than I would have back when it came out.

I was just thinking they’ve been making Scorpion King movies for quite some time without Dwayne Johnson.

What was that old joke? it was a spinoff of a sequel to a reboot. And now we’ll get a reboot of a spinoff of a sequel to a reboot.

To be fair, if there were ever an IP that leant itself to sequels, one where a soldier is injected with nanites, and then has is memories edited so he becomes a one man army, Bloodshot is it.

I’m hoping for a Lee Carvallo’s Putting Challenge movie.

I wouldn’t hold my breath. Based on Diesel’s history with latching on to potential franchises (XXX, Chronicles of Riddick, The Last Witch Hunter, hell, even Fast and Furious), there’ll be an awful lot of talk, but if it gets made at all, there will be about an 8 year “wait” before he returns to Bloodshot.
