Battleship definitely gets a bad rap. Not a great movie, but enjoyable on a lazy afternoon.

Fully agreed. This is basically an original property. Having it linked to their theme park just means it has built-in crosspromotion potential for Disney. But narratively it’s a blank slate. Could be a Pirates-sized success, could be a Haunted Mansion-sized flop, or everything in between.
Maybe licensing, like with all major characters? Maybe they’re in the works for a GL movie starring both?
I’m interested in anything Green Lantern so I will for sure check it out. It seems like they have definite plans for Diggle tho. I just imagine it’s coming later rather than sooner.
In the Arrow finale Diggle was moving his family to Metropolis, so maybe John Stewart will eventually show up on Superman & Lois?
I guarantee that if they’d used John Stewart they would’ve recast him. And I really want David Ramsey to play Arrowverse GL.
I see no reason Dig couldn't show up for at least a cameo. I imagine a scene of them floating past a new recruit training session and Dig'll be comedically trying to figure out the ring in the background. That certainly wouldn't be enough, but something at least.
I’d switch out Kyle for Jessica Cruz and Guy Gardner. GL movies could use some women (I guess they could alway use Star Sapphire) and Guy is much more entertaining than Kyle. Kyle can work just as well on tv, he’s a good GL entry point—along with Baz— and his youth and good looks make him strong ‘ship material for a…
That is true, but being separated from everyone else: he must know the meaning of being lonely.
Perhaps Halloway learned from the Backstreet Boys to stop playing games
I mean, I’m pretty sure DC just straight hates Kyle.
I mean... we already know (from Crisis) that this is happening on a different Earth. This just means that Diggle is free to be the Lantern of Earth Prime.
“John Stewart, and Kyle Raynor, however, will not be part of the show.”
Once again, Kyle gets screwed.
Let’s face it. They are fully ignoring this. Sounds to me like it will be an HBO-MAX show to divorce it from the Arrowverse.
I can’t tell if where they’re going with this is:
Honestly, this is probably exactly why they DIDN’T add Stewart. Either they have a plan to add Diggle into the show later, or they realized they painted themselves into a storytelling corner by throwing that nonsensical cameo into a previous show and now everyone expects them to do something with it. (Which they…
Nah, I get it. They’re the most well known Green Lanterns, their presence would have an outsized impact on the show when they’re clearly aiming more for an Ensemble piece.
Right?
Now this, this I will pay $30 for.
