It’s the new Hapsburg Chin.
It’s the new Hapsburg Chin.
It’s the “John Travolta is the father of a girl” headline that’s a headscratcher because the implication is that you’re going to read about him doing that sexist thing of saying, “As the father of girl, blah blah” or something. But it doesn’t happen. The implication is there, though.
It was nice! It was so nice and normal as to be kinda boring! Why is this the lede for the Dirt Bag?!?!
I thought it was nice. I feel like I must have misplaced my cynic gene or something, considering my reaction to the story that was written.
Yeah, it’s like the least-weird thing Travolta has said in a very long time.
A father says the nicest, least narcissitic, least sexist things, about his daughter in public and somehow that’s...weird? And taking credit for her doing well?
That law certainly existed when the movie was filmed. It was the mid-90s, not 1970.
Let's not forget Gunther's role in the whole 'on a break' debacle. He knew what he was doing from the get-go.
That was my immediate thought. Why not have a double for that? As a 30 year old man, I definitely would not want to kiss an 11 year old and that's not even going into how she must have felt.
The character was actually I think 4 or 5 in the book. It was supposed to be part of her curse that she in no way looked old enough for adult things despite her mind maturing. But they could definitely have had a stunt adult for Dunst for that scene
Stunt double for the kiss.
I work in production. Nowadays there’s a job called ‘intimacy coordinator’ and their whole position is to help actors feel safe/basically choreograph consensual sex, rape scenes, and anything to do with violence/nudity (ex. past example on a project I did was someone ODing while naked). When they’re filming one of…
To the best of my knowledge, in the quarter-century since the film’s release, Pitt has yet to be subjected to a similar question. [People]
Pour one out for Clashtalk guys, it’s been deleted. I wonder how much longer will former sublogs last.
I’m sorry your empathy is so limited, you can focus both on caring about the environment and caring about someone else. And you can do that without having to measure their pain by comparing them to others because pain truly isn’t something that can be measured.
nah, you don’t know her experience or any pain she may have went through despite what resources she has. Her pain shouldn’t be regarded as any less than any other woman who has struggled with infertility.
Eh, I didn’t read it as “look at me, I needed fertility treatments” but as “if you are seeing this post and you are crushed because someone else got pregnant, know that I have been there and I have empathy.” I can see where it would play both ways though.
Faye Dunaway hates white? News to me, seeing as she called my female Chinese-American coworker a racial slur and demanded a white man be assigned to her instead.
Seriously, how dare that evil bitch Anne Hathaway show empathy for people struggling to become pregnant? How dare she take a second to put aside her own happiness to try to give them some hope in a difficult time? What a horrible human being! Ugh, grow up Jezebel writers.
I don’t usually like the ‘difficult woman to work with’ thing, but Dunaway has had a reputation for decades that may be well-earned. I get the ‘no white in the audience’ thing during rehearsals, as you’re building your character and—USUALLY—learning your lines, and flashes of white in the darkness can be a bit…
