Point taken! And I’ve had a change of heart since I tried defending After Years to you a few years ago. It really is just a repeat. I’ve played a lot more Final Fantasy since then (IV was my first and I played AY immediately afterward).

Even WITH the delay, there is a 0% chance I will finish this retrospective before FFXV comes out. The good news is that I can include FFXV in the retrospective!
Nioh is an upcoming Playstation 4 exclusive that blends aspects of Dark Souls, Onimusha, and even a little Genji:…
Part of me wants to run out and buy the game, and part wants to wait for the reviews and the PC version. And another part of me wants some cheesecake. I think we all know the right thing to do in this situation.
This is one of the best articles I’ve read in a long time on here. And an especially interesting investigation of what happens to long term online forum communities in general, and having been both a fan of Berserk since the 90's anime was new, and reading the manga over college as well as being a sociologist, this…
Remember the days when you could watch fan-subbed anime and manga distributed through IRC and FTP, and not have to deal with internet comments and stupid circle jerks.
I don’t know if I would call Jack Nicholson in white paint a good Joker. However, the more and more this DARK GRIT REALISM shit is poured down our throats, I’m starting to appreciate him more.
This is by a large margin, the most entertaining review I've read in a long time. I have not seen the movie, and will likely wait for it to hit the rental scene, but you made me actually kind of want to see it.
Felix, I don't want to get ahead of myself, but this is a pretty sick twisted review pal
I consider my life to consist of two parts: one before I saw Suicide Squad, the other after.
Original Dark Sector basically became Warframe, so at least we got that.
I think the selling point with this one is the gameplay. It’s a Looking Glass style game so the biggest comparison would be System Shock etc. Arkane exclusively make that type of game - Dishonored, Arx Fatalis, Dark Messiah. PC Gamer recently did an amazing article about the genre which they called ‘immersive sims’.
I love this pic! If you ever hear or watch a Keanu interview, he comes across as a guy that likes to work, hang out and ride his bikes. There’s something profoundly peaceful about that.
Actually, more like System Shock to me, but I get your point. It might be good, but it wasn’t the game I was waiting for for certain.
Really bummed they dropped the Native American angle, that was easily the most interesting aspect of Prey.
Not surprised. I mean, the point of the scene wasn’t to show Tidus laughing and James Arnold Taylor did a bad job (he’s a quality voice actor), it was meant to be awkward and forced and weird. Mission accomplished.
Makes sense, this is why the 60fps PC FFX patch is taking awhile. The engine is triggered on timings and 60fps kills the timing of things a bit.
The visuals of Half-Life 2 and Dishonored were imagineered by the same person, Viktor Antonov. ;)
Gravity gun was new. I was extremely miffed (and still am) that Valve removed tripmines and satchels and only slightly miffed they removed snarks, the Tau Cannon, and the overpowered Gluon gun from the original Half-Life for the vastly inferior weapon known as the Gravity Gun and the Pulse Cannon. Tripmines were the…
Haven’t played that one. I played dishonored recently, and while it wasn’t half life good, it was going in that direction. It was story driven (but the story wasn’t as good, and wasn’t as fleshed out), it was linearish, but provided a few different paths to get there. The dark mood was slightly reminiscent too.
