My favorite story involved a Fantasy Flight Age of Rebellion game we were playing.

Final Fantasy II is one of the most important “bad” games in history. It’s by all accounts a complete shitshow, but not only was it the one to give the world Chocobo’s, Cid, and about 3/4ths of all FF traditions, but the levelling system would form the basis of SaGa and The Elder Scrolls.

I’ve been keeping a daily journal for nearly a decade, including a several breakups, and my personal experience agrees.

But at least it was hella fun to read.

So I’ve decided to start a new game on the ultra-violence mode, and as I watched the scene where the Doom Slayer puts his helmet on you can see for a split second that the initial boot-up language in the helmet is home sort of hieroglyphic language that immediately translates to English a split second later.

This is one of the few animes, that released in the last couple of years, which entered my top 10 list (And I have a reallly long list.).

Most of these college students would've been born beyond the time to really enjoy the Final Fantasy golden age. They were probably 10 years old around the time FF XII came out.

Authenticity doesn’t absolve the weird or the pervy. Just shows the game met those qualifications, too (but it’s “mature”). Running out of here before the gamer shitfling starts flying my way. :)

I hope this will make at least a few people realize that no developer wants to release an imperfect product, and that it is often the fault of external things that create the issues seen in released games. Given infinite time and money, any creative person would work on it until they deem it of quality.
