Find me a U-Haul with seating for 6.

That’s only really doable if you have only two-three people, unless you want to risk getting busted for unbelted passengers. Or risk killing someone in an accident because they’re sitting in a $10 camp chair in the back of a cargo van.

Just yesterday I booked a rental for 10 days in Hawaii (Big Island) for next month. We needed seating for 6 + luggage so it was going to have to be a big SUV or minivan. The quotes were - no kidding - more than the DEN - KOA plane tickets for 6 people. Think $2500 for 10 days.

For various reasons I’ve turned over my entire fleet since November. Sold more than I bought so the buy / sell ratio favored me. In most cases I got way more money than I expected selling, and I think I managed to get a decent price on the stuff I bought. I live in CO and ended up buying the 3 cars from Wyoming,

I just went through the process of selling (flipping?) a near-new used car and went through all the usual suspects - CarMax, Carvana, Autonation - with the exception of Vroom. There were just too many horror stories of Vroom losing checks, screwing up title work, etc. They definitely don’t seem to be as well organized

This wasn’t the biggest deal but it was funny.

I’m in!

I had a Ram 50 exactly like the one in the pic! Reg cab, 4x4, bright red. When I first bought it I replaced the timing belts on the Mitsu 2.6 and realized the belt for the balance shaft had been installed 180 degrees out, so it was actually an imbalance shaft. Once I put it back together the thing ran a lot smoother -

Fired? CJ’s dead, man. Maybe fired into the sun on the next Tesla Roadster launch.

I had a 2019 Bolt affected by the recall. It wasn’t widely publicized but GM had a courtesy manufacturer buyback program for affected Bolts. I decided to take advantage of it, because as much as I liked the car I was looking to upgrade to one of the upcoming AWD EVs in the near future anyway.

I had a 2019 Bolt, now have a 2017 Volt. In most respects I liked the Bolt better. The Volt fits our current usage profile better but the Bolt had much better interior space utilization and visibility, and was far more fun to drive. Volt does have more comfortable seats. And of course the complete elimination of range

I have actually done this. In my case I imported a pair of Lancia Fulvias, one came from Italy and the other came from Belgium. Shipping two cars in the same container wasn’t much more money than a single car via RO/RO.

Exactly. I bought a 2020 Ram 3500 at the end of last year. Mine doesn’t even have the diesel and it still has a better payload and tow rating than this thing.

First off the electric F-150 is still at least a year or so away. But here’s the bigger issue: the bidirectional CCS standard is still under development. So while an individual manufacturer might have some mechanism to do, say, V2G in certain circumstances (like VW’s DC Wallbox initiative in Germany) that’s not the

Yeah, one minor problem here: do you know how may EVs currently sold in the US support bidirectional charging?

I recently went from a full BEV (2019 Chevy Bolt) to a PHEV (2017 Chevy Volt). Yes, I’m aware most people go the other direction. This is the first time since 2015 I haven’t had at least one full EV.

GM was / is(?) buying back 2017-2019 Bolts affected by the “might burn your house down” recall if you’re an extremely noisy and obnoxious customer (raises hand). In my case I opted for an MSRP swap to the Camaro instead of a straight cash buyback so I turned in the Bolt, paid the $6k-ish difference in MSRP, and

It was a little weirder than that. I showed up in a Bolt and left in the Camaro. There’s a long drawn out explanation that can basically be summed up as, basically, YOLO.

Counterpoint - the LT1 Convertible is the coolest Camaro. Convertible because you can actually see out of it, and LT1 because it’s the cheapest way to get the fantastic V8 soundtrack, which is even better with the top down. Most of the extra stuff you get with the SS is for track duty, which you wouldn’t do with a

This is an easy one. Tahoe / Yukon with the 6.2.
